PIECE OF CRAP. DON'T WASTE YOUR $ . I OWN AND OPERATE AN ORGANIC FARM 20+ YEARS. THE TOOL LASTED MAYBE ONE MONTH.
Don't waste your money

Bought this in April 2015. The tines are so weak they bend with normal use and can be straightened by stepping on them. Six months later the finish is peeling off the wood components. Junk. Don't waste your money.

Very well made. Didn't notice any of the roughness others reviewers noted. My wife has been breaking soil with it.
Bends and breaks hassle to return

Don't buy this item. Bought two forks one a tine broke, the other the handle broke both with less than a half hour of moderate digging in nice easy digging nonrocky soil. I returned both to AMZN. I replaced forks with a fork made by Joesph Bentley it was almost half the price and the finish was much nicer. I have had no issues with this brand. I have used Smith and Hawkens prior to this with no problems at all, they are no longer available. Spear and Jackson was very much a inferior tool.
