I like the fact there are no bad ingredients and the list of ingredients is very small. The price seemed quite reasonable and I liked the fact they had a five year shelf life. They taste reasonable good as well but there are two things to be aware of. One: it says these are not thirst provoking which turns out to be quite subjective. Water would be nice since they are so dry. Second: Since they are so dry once you open up the individually sealed package and take your first bite they begin to crumble so if you are not careful a good portion of your survival bar will end up on the ground.
Burnt product still sent out.

Tastes like carbon. Someone burned something in this batch and is counting on nobody tasting them until their emergency situation. Pretty disgusting ethics for any company. Test your product next time so I don't have to.
May not have 5 year shelf life

I purchased these for shelf storage, so I haven't tried them yet. I only bought 1 pack with the intention of trying them, but my hubby said nope. lol My review is strictly based on packaging. I bought these 4/13/2017. Got them a few days ago, and only just now noticed that the manufacturing date is 9-15. These are already over 1.5 years old. I know they still have 3 years left on them, but when I checked the questions, someone asked about expiration date and the seller said,
"They have a 5 year shelf life. All of our stock is freshly manufactured".
I'm a bit irritated that I'm loosing shelf life, but I only paid about $9 for them so I'm not going to complain to the company and have no plans to return them, but just be aware that when you receive them, they may not actually HAVE 5 years of shelf storage left. Other than expiration date, the package arrived quickly and is fully vacuum sealed. The instructions are printed on them (1 bar every 6 hours at sea, 1 bar every 4 hours on land) so I don't have to worry about remembering in a crisis situation. Nutrition info is printed also, as well as drinking water tips in emergency situations.
If I can convince the hubby to crack these open, I'll update my review. As it is now, I'm ok with the purchase, but would have given 4 stars if it had full shelf life.

Upon seeing how well they are packaged and how good they taste we purchased in bulk for vehicles

We initially purchased this as a Christmas gift for our daughters survival pack. Upon seeing how well they are packaged and how good they taste we purchased in bulk for vehicles, home preps and other emergency gear. Very happy with this purchase
Item and seller are both top-notch

The item: Surprisingly tasty, albeit dry, for a survival ration. Should be good for several years beyond their expiration date unless you store them in direct sunlight in a hot climate (or in the back of a car that is routinely parked in the sun and gets up to oven-like temperatures inside). Just make sure you have plenty of water and you'll probably be able to manage well over 72 hours of activity without any problems. The perfect thing for an earthquake kit, for example, which is what mine were for.
The seller: Item exactly as advertised, expiration date not until 2021, prompt shipment. No complaints.
