This thing is worth every penny! I honestly wasn't sure at first but knew as soon as I got it and used it! you cant ask for a better kit to get cables ran.

Let's be clear, nobody who's cable fishing is having a good time. 🎣 It's awkward, it's fiddly, there are unpredictable setbacks, and you're usually in some nasty crawl space or attic getting filthy. But you know what else isn't a good time? Repairing drywall and repainting walls. So here you are, reading reviews of cable fishing equipment.

And that makes sense, if you're going to go fishing, you should give yourself the best equipment.

This is, as far as I can tell, the best of this particular type of equipment. The magnet roller is incredibly strong, but also has smooth rolling no scuff wheels. The drop tool has its own magnetic strength, and is drawn to the roller like Homer to a donut. The positioning device is also pretty sweet and actually works unlike a lot of them, you get warmer/colder beeping until you're in range and then arrows to nail down where you're at.

You probably still want some fishing rods and hooks, and a borescope, and of course a bunch of heavy waxed twine, but this is a super good start as you gear up for the eternal battle of You Vs Wall (or more precisely You Vs Whatever Stupid S**t Is In The Wall).

Works well when installing new wiring and moving old wiring. Works perfectly when venting dryers, range hoods and bathroom fans. Easy to use with very accurate holes on roofs, siding or floors. Worth the investment if you have a remodel that is not a complete tear out and have to run wires , cables or vents with out destroying the existing drywall. Pricy but pays for itself in first use IMHO.
