wow, what a great knife. It came sharpish, and buy that I mean sharp enough to cut paper but not too sharp. This little machete is lightweight, compact, and incredibly useful. The balance is great and feels excellent in hand. The saw back actually works, as does the crusher on the bottom. Full tang and worth what I paid.

1. Its hella sharpe. I have already cut my self twice on this thing so be careful. This is not a toy.
2. It's easy to swing. It feels great in your hand and is easy to weild. Your arm won't get tired with this thing.
3. Perfect size . Not to big not to small. You could run with on your side and it wouldn't get in the way. Its also not to small that you couldn't wack your way out of the bush.

Nice blade, sheath needs some work

The knife itself is great and so far I have had no problems with it. The blade arrives reasonably sharp from the factory.
The sheath on the other hand requires a bit of work. The blade guard on the inside has a flap that sticks up and causes the blade to hang when inserting it. I remedied this by gluing the guard to the sheath so there are no loose ends. The sheath is also arrives too narrow to easily insert the blade. The problem is they way it is just looped the material around and stitched it. The loop takes up a lot of the width, but there is plenty of material. I just clamped the side of the sheath between a couple small boards, compressing the loop which increases the loop and the blade fits fine. Seems this could be easily done at the factory saving the customer the trouble.

I've had 2 of these for 4-5 years now. I always have one with me. I love it for camping. It's the right size, well balanced and is useful in so many situations. I'd be lost without it.
I've had to sharpen the one that gets the most use twice now and it still functions very well. My secondary one, which has seen some use but not a lot is still as sharp as it was when it came from the factory.
The sheath is nice too. It fits a little too tight for comfort though as sometimes it can get stuck which makes me nervous. But it's a very small opportunity and not something that would change my mind about this product.

How to fix the sheath

Like a lot of reviewers, I like the tool just fine. Good to have a cheap, well-made chopper for the rough places. Grip feels like it was designed by somebody who had actually hacked on some stuff.
Unlike some reviewers, I don't see any problem with the sheath. It just needs to be tuned up. The plastic insert facing the saw side of the machete is not form fit. The fat curve makes the sheath narrower than it needs to be and the saw and knife edges both hang up on the way in and out. Heat up the plastic with a hairdryer for a few minutes, then flatten the sheath some with a board weighed down with a jug of water. The sheath will hold its new shape after it cools. My blade now pulls and sets nice and smooth - no more chewing on the sheath. Just don't smash it completely flat.
