Bottle leaked in packaging
Mark✓ Verified Purchase•September 8, 2017
Purchased this this past winter, and stored it in my basement where I keep all my other car care products. I just opened it to use it on some plastic engine covering pieces and it seems that the bottle leaked and dried inside the inner bag (during shipping I assume?), making it worthless to me. You can see the dried, flaked pieces in the corners of the sealed bag and also on the bottle (tough to see).
Love It

I like it and it seems to hold up well. Have repurchased . However do not let it sit indefinitely which I did and the solution dried up. My fault.
Works as advertised, but be sure to CLEAN first!

My car has seen a lot of miles and is about 10 years old, and has a lot of plastic cladding that had faded and made it look, well, old!! So after reading a bunch of reviews I decided to give this product a shot. I was also bored and want to get a few more years out of my car and like to keep it looking as best I can. My car features both lighter gray and black plastic, so other products designed for black-only plastic restoration didn't seem like the best choice, so I went with WipeNew based on reviews and longevity.
As someone who admittedly isn't the most detail oriented, I still got pretty good results with this product. I applied it to my car the day after a big rainstorm, so it was reasonably clean; I did get some very slight streaking in the application, but this has minimized as the product cured and overall still looks very good. From a distance it looks stellar, and even up close its quite acceptable. If I had done more prep it would probably look even better. I would suggest washing the plastic trim thoroughly with at least dish soap and water, and then drying thoroughly, before applying if possible! I also suggest washing, drying, and treating one trim piece at a time, and don't be in a hurry to finish. The slower you go the better results you'll get.
The included detail brush is a nice touch and was very useful on my car. It was a little flimsy and was partially disintegrated by the end of the job, but it still survived. I am glad it was there. I had lots of small nooks and crannies to get into and it was the perfect size. I would suggest actually doing edges and detail work first with the brush, similar to painting a room, and then doing the full wipe on the main sections after. It was a little tricky to keep it from getting on the paint due to my car's design but the little bit that did wiped off easily, just be sure to wipe it off your paint right away or otherwise you'll need rubbing compound later to remove it.
The included microfiber cloths work great. Follow the directions - seriously, read them, and follow them. Would definitely recommend this product. I used an entire bottle on my car - lots of very faded plastic! - but will probably get another to try on the interior and catch a few spots that I missed. Oh yes, definitely use outside or in a very well ventilated garage - it smells very strong and I wouldn't want to be breathing this stuff without fresh air.

I had been fine using the typical trim restoration solutions

I'm quite the skeptic when it comes to As-Seen-On-TV types of items. However, I had a situation that I couldn't resolve with typical trim products. I own a 2012 Wrangler, which are notorious for quickly fading trim (bumpers, fenders, door handles, etc). I had been fine using the typical trim restoration solutions. It was just a acceptable chore every month. To further the issue, I got in an accident back in May, where they had to replace a fender and bumper with new ones. This resulted a huge contrast between the original parts and the new ones. In frustration, I purchased this at a local brick and mortar to give it a shot.
I scrubbed down everything with dish soap and a brush, allowed to dry, and applied this in the shade on a Sunday morning. Wow. That's all I can really say. It's been on a week thus far and doesn't appear to be fading. I know that only time will tell how good this stuff really is, but immediate observations are impressive. You cannot tell that my old trim is 5 years older than the new pieces. Everything is a rich satin black. It may help that the trim is all textured, but the deep color came back without making it look wet or shiny. This products seems to penetrate the plastic, then seal it. It is quite vaporous and chemical, but that is probably because it isn't a silicone, but a polymer. Use in a well ventilated area. The only thing I dock it for is the quantity. While a meticulous approach might make it stretch, a bottle was only enough to do all of my exterior trim.
Tip: If you notice streaks or splotches as it is drying, give it an hour and go over it with a second coat. This should soften the underlying coat, smoothing it out for an even appearance. I did this on all pieces I applied it to, and is probably the reason why the tiny bottle didn't go as far for me.

We were surprised at what a nice job this does. My cars door panels were all marked up and showing the signs of wear. Wiped this on and now they look like new. Belongs in the automotive box for yearly detailing.
