Great exercise bike, terrific customer service!
Paula Z.•January 2, 2017
This is a terrific product! I pedal on it for 30 minutes or more at least a few days each week, while watching a lecture or reading. It is perfectly silent in operation, requires no maintenance, and gives me exercise that is as aerobic as I want it to be, or perhaps merely pleasant. At age 78, just moving the blood around is a good thing. I do that at resistance level 3, and my painful knee appreciates the non-weight-bearing exercise! But if I were younger, I would work up to all 8 resistance levels, to make it as difficult as I would want it to be to build strength and stamina, or to keep in shape through a hard winter.
The customer service of 3D Innovations is outstanding. I wrote to them, asking to purchase a distance-speed-time-calories readout that could be placed on my desk, instead of my having to peer under the desk into a dimly lit area to see the one that is attached to the bike. They sent it to me for free!

I have been using this bike at my desk for 3 months. It is FABULOUS. It makes absolutely NO noise and hides under my desk very well. I am a busy working mom and don't have a lot of extra time to workout. I have lost 13 pounds with this along with watching calories. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!!

12/05/2016 - OK. So if you're like the average person over 40 (especially females) and have not been blessed with awesome metabolism, you will not lose significant weight using the deskcycle unless you combine it with a diet modification and increased aerobic exercise. Since I use this at an office setting and need to look professional (and not be sweating like I just left the gym), I cannot pedal faster than 15 MPH.
Since I hate exercising to begin with, I just modified my diet by eating very light for dinner and was able to lose some excess weight.
On a lighter note: My legs feel better and have changed its sculpture for the better. Before I began my diet, I did notice that I lost some of the fatty, lumpy areas just above my knees. It helps also if you reverse-pedal to work additional muscles.
Bottom line: Great for keeping your legs moving, but losing weight from it will take a very, very long time. And the machine is still quiet as ever after about 5 months!

After using this consistently for over a week now, here are my thoughts on the DeskCycle Desk Exercise Bike Pedal Exerciser, White.
Pros:
Extremely Quiet
Easy to set up
On-desk display option
No distraction (when set up properly)
Time flies and you will burn a LOT of calories without sweating so much
Cons:
Hard on the knees (even if you're pedaling properly)
The calories setting will reset to 0 once you hit 1000 (However, this does not affect your distance. It will continue to count it!)
I will provide an update after a few months of my weight-loss results, but for now, my main focus was to keep moving my legs while I was working at my desk. Because I have a desk job, I did not get up and moved around a lot and I started getting really worried about my health after reading that even 1 hour of daily exercise will not undo the damage you do sitting all day at work.
The calories count up quickly. The pictured is after only 5 hours sitting at my desk (900 calories on 12mph). Because of the quiet, smooth motion, you may not feel it right away but your legs will be sore at the end of the day from the constant cycling. After the 3rd day and a moderate diet change, I lost about 4lbs (keep in mind this is prob mostly water weight). Also, if your legs are prone to swelling after a long day of sitting, this will get rid of that. My feet no longer feel like they're about to burst out of my shoes as I'm leaving for work!
I didn't notice this until about the 4th or 5th day, but my knees started to feel very sore on resistance setting of 4. So I am now on resistance 3, which feels a lot better. Your legs will still feel it.
Be sure to set the Deskcycle up properly or you will feel very uncomfortable (correct your chair height, readjust your sliding keyboard tray, etc) to get the optimal advantage. The band which came with it doesn't really hold the deskcycle up too well so I will have to find a thicker band to do the work. I've switched to a non-sliding executive office chair, but it's still sliding backwards as I cycle. Very pleased so far, however.

Love it. I burn an extra 1200 calories a day doing 3-4 hrs of pedaling. Do them usually when on calls. Already lost .1.5 pounds in 5 days. Great investment.
I might get a second one for upstairs...

This is so great - better than I hoped. I sit at a desk all day and which is affecting my lower back. I purchased this to at least keep my legs working and hopefully add some bit of core strength. After 2 weeks, my legs are noticeably stronger and my back is far less likely to spasm. I've kept it on low, "1" or "2", and my weight has gone down an ounce or two each day since I started.
The digital readout is useful. The pedaling is effortless once I'm warmed up, (I'll be upping it to "3" soon). (Settings go to "8" - my son is an extreme runner and finds he can't sustain pedaling in that zone for too long). I can work at the computer or surf the internet and forget I'm racking up the miles. The digital mile count seemed to be on the high side but it's consistent with my road cycling speed/time. My original goal was 30 miles a week but that's turned out to be too low - 100 miles a week is totally doable for just pedaling while working at the computer. The calorie readout is what it is - not sure how to check that. Time readout is perfect. Pedaling backwards continues to accrue miles.
It's also quick to assemble - mostly just attaching the pedals and feet and monitor.
