the stupid timer has shut the flame off
Jeff R.March 9, 2018
The only thing I can say positive, is the stand and burner works well, is stable and seems well made but that is as far as it goes. The timer that is made into the regulator (which requires batteries, (not included) and the battery box doesn't tell the polarity of the batteries) is an absolute joke. If you are cooking anything besides a turkey ( I was cooking split chicken breasts for a large family party), and having to prepare the food before frying becomes a real struggle because every time you turn around, the stupid timer has shut the flame off.Who has time to be watching a tiny green flashing light on the timer, letting you know the timer needs to be reset. So you have to struggle to go into the stand to relight the burner, with the pot on it, or pick up the hot pot of oil, sit it down on the ground, risking a spill of hot oil on your feet and hands, reset the timer, relight the burner, and sit the the pot back on the burner, risking a fire, and try to get the oil temperature in the pot back to the correct heat. Needless to say, some of the chicken was not cooked consistently due to having to stop and struggle with the stupid timer and relighting the burner. on another note, the cooking pots and accessories are functional, but very thinly made. If you have nothing else to do but stand around a turkey fryer and watch a timer waiting to reset it, you might like this cooker. But if you have anything else to do that requires any time, beware of this product. The stand and burner are good, but from the hose out to regulator assembly, and the cooking pots should be sent back to the recycle bin. If I could give this product a lower score, I would ! I am a very unhappy amazon prime member !! I can not believe Amazon would represent and sell such a poorly designed and cheaply manufactured product. I think every Amazon buyer deserves better, and I will see what action will be taken to remedy our problem. Shame on you !!!!
Fry, boil, steam all-in-one

Great set for beginners. I've fried a whole turkey, chicken, and did a shrimp boil in this and everything turned out perfect. Just remember there is a safety timer on the gas line that shuts off after about 10-15 mins, so you need to keep checking on it and resetting the safety valve. Some people have complained about this, but I didn't find it that big of a deal. I like to check on my food frequently anyway, and it's better than burning your yard or house down.
Battery compartment broke first time I used it.

The auto shut off mode is terrible. You will probably have to start it three times to get water to boil. It has a cheap plastic battery compartment for the shut off valve and is easily broken. Had to gorilla tape the battery compartment closed after the first use.
Dented pot and bent lid--right out of the box! Disappointing.

When I read the reviews I noticed that many people complained that their pot and lid were dented or bent out of shape upon arrival. I thought most of these people had said the box was also banged up, so when our pot arrived in an intact box (packed by Amazon in a larger box with other items) I thought we were safe. I wish I had checked this sooner! It's now the night before Thanksgiving and we are planning to fry a turkey tomorrow. We opened the box to assemble it and check it out in preparation for tomorrow (good thing, because we didn't realize we'd need AAA batteries: not included). The large pot is dented in multiple places on all sides, and the lid is dented and bent out of shape so it doesn't close tightly. My husband pushed out the dents and reshaped the lid the best he could--the result is shown in the photo (this was AFTER trying to fix the dents). How this could come out of the package NEW and be in this condition, I don't know. The box looked fine, so it's like they packed damaged pieces at the factory. If we didn't need to use it tomorrow, and it wasn't already to late to get a replacement, we would certainly return it. I should have known better, after all the reviewers commented on the same thing!
Also--there is no hole or cut-out in the lid for the thermometer, like our previous pot, so I don't know how we're going to track the temperature with the lid on (my husband may end up drilling a hole).
Lesson learned: don't wait till the last minute to inspect your purchase, especially when other people have a common complaint.
Live and learn.

I like a lot of folks received mine with a bent top. It wont securely cover the top and I can live with this. What I am feeling is this thing is flimsy. I have no idea about this timer thing and really don't understand the point of it. This thing feels cheap compared to the last one I owned. Sorry I couldnt remember the brand that was because I would have purchased that again.
