very solid mounting system everything on them was great, except for the most important part
oklahoma jeeperFebruary 20, 2018
ok, these were decent, very solid mounting system everything on them was great, except for the most important part, the clamping screws, they were soft metal and looked like they were halfways stripped when i got them, the allen that came to tighten them was sloppy in the head all around terrible screws that stripped out before i ever had the mounts tight on the rail, luckily my $15 iron sights i just removed had some hardened steel screws that fit these clamps and saved the day, other than that they look beautiful and seem extremely sturdy, i just can't believe a company like nikon would cheap out on mounting screws on such an expensive pair of scope rings when lesser no name rail devices come with nice hardened screws.
Reviews correct: too tight to fit receiver

Like many reviews here these do not fit my reciever. The also won't fit the rail on my Samson Evolution hanguard or the separate piece of picitinny rail I have mounted to that so I don't think it's just because I have an out if spec reciever. I've bought scope mounts and rings from YHM, Bobro and American Defense and these are the first time I've ever had an issue before. These are made in USA and I'm very disappointed
good mount provide great flexability in mounting optics

the right height for flat top AR and give the most flexibility for optics of different eye relief , I like to mount optics so that the shooter is Nose to charging handle , this is the tip of your nose is just barley touching or just a 1/4 inch from touching the charging handle this places your eye always behind the optic in the same place , and gives good reference . it also places the weight closer to you making for a steadier hold on off hand shooting. these slide on from the end they are not quick release the screws must be fully removed then they slide on with the charging handle pulled back or removed , the screw passes through the pic rail slot to lock them from moving forward or back and clamps them to the rail , it does need to be a standard spec 1913 pic rail , if needed you can turn one of the mounts 180* to give even greater flexibility in mounting
Sadly disappointed

Oh boy where to begin... well here it goes I was super disappointed just bought a new expensive scope so I wanted a good mount for my AR. Arrived super fast (happy) as I opened it to inspect the mounts I noticed it looked used!! It was either bad mill work or they for sure were used (ok at this point). Worst part was it looked like it was rusted I said screw it will put a nice FDE coat of rustoleum paint no big deal (still ok). Well then I tried to put them on my AR and one ring wouldnt even go over a standard Picatinny Rail!! (Annoyed) finally got it on I didn't. Then I decided to remove them bc I didn't like the he set up. Next thing you know it was freaking stuck! I had to take a rubber mallet to jar it lose!!! When I was finally able to get it off my rail I realized part of the scope mount shaved off and was stuck between the rail and the mount jamming it stuck. Wouldn't buy again I will stick to the Burris P.E.P.R you get what you pay for.
great scope mount with 1 flaw

Just received my 2nd set for another rifle and LOVE it! i use it with 2 UTG Bugbuster scopes and fits perfectly. i have tried a few other "budget" mounts but with this being a 2 piece mount, i was able to adjust the fit it to the scopes and the rail perfectly!

i have it mounted to a M&P 15-22 and a M&P 15x 5.56 and on the 15-22 the mounts went right on and screws lined without issue! However, on my 15x one mount was snug going on the rail whle the other one went on easy!

i was a afraid of scratching the rail , like i have read on other reviews, so i just took some oil , applied it to the rail & mount & went on easy

so far it has held both Bugbuster scopes securely after a few hundred rounds through both rifles!
