I use Ethanol Free Gas for my small motors, it costs a little more at the pump, but far cheaper than fuel related repairs at the end of the season. I put it in to an empty gas can and let new gas mix it as can is being filled. If you buy 10% ethanol gas you need to get the version for ethanol gas treatment. Works well so far. I had gas stored in a can for almost a year, and it smells fresh, and put some in my mower and mower started right up and ran smoothly. My generator manual says to store the generator full with gas and use Sta-Bil Storage. Just let it run so the gas with Sta-Bil has a chance to work its way through the whole fuel system. A year later, the generator started right up on first pull. 1 ounce will treat 2.5 gallons of gas. The only down side I've noticed is careful the angle you pour it. As you pour the fill tube into the measuring section has to fill will air, or as you pour in measured amount, extra will keep flowing from rest of bottle if not careful.
Keep your engine rust and corrosion free over the winter storage period.

I have used STA-BIL fuel stabilizer for the last 2 years when storing my V12 Vantage. Each year, I fill up the tank, pour in about half a bottle of STA-BIL as I have a 22 gallon tank. I drive the car around a few miles to ensure the fuel stabilizer has an opportunity to cycle completely through the engine and fuel system.
I put my car on a trickle charger and then 3-4 months later I come back and it starts back up every time. One of the main purposes of the fuel stabilizer is to coat the inside of the engine to prevent any rust or corrosion over the long storage period. If you are remotely concerned about the health of your vehicle I would highly recommend using STA-BIL anytime you store your vehicle for more any prolonged period of time.

I simply do not fill gas cans without using Stabil, period.

i have never, ever had trouble starting an engine after sitting, so long as I have stabil in the gas and let it run before storage. conversely, when friends / family / neighbors / coworkers store engines for the season without using it, they never fail to have trouble. today's gas is just plain crappy. motors, especially old carburated motors just plain don't like this ethanol blend gas. no force on earth could compel me to run any of my power equipment without stabil in it. I keep some in the truck for filling gas cans. I simply do not fill gas cans without stabil, period.
3 years later it turned over and started just fine

This stuff works. I put this in the fuel tank of a car that I love that had a blown head gasket and needed a rebuild. Life got in the way and my wife and I bought a new house and had a baby, so the car project was put off for three years. I added STA-BIL to the fuel tank and after just under three years I wasn't optimistic that it would start, but happily it fired up after turning over just a little more than normal.
I'm a satisfied customer and the car is going to be trailered off for a re-build and we don't have to push it on and off the trailer. I've had other cars that sat for less time but needed the fuel tank to be drained and filter replaced before they would start. I hope I don't have another car sit for quite this long, but if it is a possibility I will be adding STA-BIL.

Great product. Use it in all of my lawn tractors, lawn mowers, chainsaws and weed eaters to keep the fuel fresh during inactive and active months; always add Stabil.
Not fun or inexpensive to rebuild/replace carburetors. Big money/time saver to add stabilizer to fuel even if you're going to burn it up. Have noticed that in some small engines adding Stabil and leaving it sit over the winter, the engine runs even better. NO issues starting up. That is just great and a pleasant surprise. At least it was with one of my lawn tractors, an MTD. I actually ordered a new carb for the MTD expecting to replace it this spring but the Stabil seemed to of cleaned out whatever was causing the idle issue.
Have bought from the seller twice already and am very happy with the product and shipping which has been within 2-3 days. Highly recommend. Also recommend waiting for and watching the price, you can save up to 50% compared to buying from local big box stores.
Highly recommend!
