This was easy to assemble
Mary Stewart•May 30, 2017
Attractive stand. Holds three acoustic guitars and two dulcimers (all in cases) and there's not room for more. I would guess it could hold four or five acoustic guitars in their cases, depending on how thick the cases are. This was easy to assemble. The item comes with screws, which easily fit into the pre-drilled holes. My only complaint is that the pre-drilled holes on one side were just a little "off target" so that the boards on one side don't fit quite flush. However, the not-flush side is at the bottom back where it doesn't show. Because I have a handy husband, I knew he could easily make this. However, after considering that he has other projects going and considering the cost of buying wood, stain, finish, screws, and the time involved in cutting, sanding, staining, etc., I decided to just buy it. I've been using this stand for about four months--still happy with it.
This is my 4th one I bought...

This is my 4th one I bought... yup, I have lots of guitars, both acoustic and electric, some in cases and others in gig baga. Also holds 2 bowed psalteries and half dozen cigar box guitars. These jewels hold them all and for a bargain price. One can easily fit 5 acoustic guitars in hard cases in each one of these stands. Electrics in gig bags.... several more. The wood is finished perfectly and assembly takes all of 5 minutes. Recommend not using the included Gorilla glue - messy and not needed for strength. The hardware is first rate.
Much needed space reclaimed in our studio!

These are absolutely marvelous stands for the price! Between myself and the rest of my band, we have 15+ guitar cases in my studio - all laying on the floor and taking up much needed space. I saw a few guitar stand options in the $300+ range but that wasn't going to work when I needed at least two or three of 'em to cover everything. I also pondered the idea of building some DIY units, but no, just no - time involved and frustration just isn't worth it. Then I stumbled upon these babies. Ironically, I have String String rack mounted guitar hangers which are AWESOME for shows (bass player here, vintage Ampeg 8x10 so I have room to hang my Tbird off the rack that is sitting above the 8x10) so I figured that these guitar case stands wouldn't be too bad quality-wise. I am quite impressed! What I like most are these two things: it is crafted from real wood, and it is non-intrusive (meaning, it doesn't make it's presence known - you mostly see the guitar cases and then you might notice the stand itself). Happy camper here, we might need another one soon and I would not hesitate to purchase another one.
Frees up a lot of space!

I noticed that in all the customer posted pictures, this rack is up against a wall, so I was curious if it was free standing - I visited StringSwing's website, and it stated the product was indeed free standing, so I went for it.
The rack is made of very nice solid ash, and can be easily assembled in about 15 minutes, including a potty break. They include a tube of Gorilla Glue, but the supplied wood screws are sufficient. If you go the full route, I would suggest you try putting the rack together without the glue first.
At 3 feet wide, it doesn't take up much space, yet saves a ton of space. You can easily store 5 arch-top style acoustic cases on it with a bit of breathing room between each case. Love it.
And yes, it can fold, if needed. If you have more than one guitar case laying around, this is an excellent and attractive storage solution.

I need another guitar to fill it up.

This case rack arrived sooner than expected and everything I needed to assemble was included in the box. Assembly was too difficult for my wife and six-year old to complete, but I managed it with no problems. The wood appears to be oak and this stand is very sturdy.
