Fixed my oven rack's full extension guides
Saintpetepaul✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 5, 2023
I own an expensive oven and one of the features I love about it is that the oven tracks are on full extension guides, like a kitchen drawer. Stupidly, they can never get wet and that complicates cleaning them. The manufacturer recommends wiping them down which doesn't work. Submerging the racks in soapy water cleans them but washes away their factory applied lubricant. Since they're chrome, I can't leave them in the oven when I run the self clean function. It's an absurd design but that's what I'm dealing with.

About six months ago I threw caution to the wind and soaked them overnight in a tub full of soapy water and they cleaned up beautifully. As expected, the lubricant washed away too and the never tracks never worked the same way. As the bearings inside rusted, they stopped working all together.

The manufacturer wanted to sell me a 1 oz. bottle of lubricant for $80 and I told them they were insane and refused to buy it. I dug deep through the recesses of the internet and came across a recommendation for this stuff and bought it here. It works beautifully, it's heatproof, my oven's racks look brand new, work like brand new and I saved around 70 bucks. Sounds like a winner to me.
This is new to me..

I used it on some guide rails on a CNC machine. Oil or grease will attract dust and debris that can get in the bearings. Applied in thin coats and allowed to flash off it doesn't turn white. If extra coats can build up that may be even better. I can't swear allegiance or sing songs of its accomplishments yet but I think its going to be something I use when possible.
Perfect for 3D Printer

I needed to replace the lubricant on my 3d printers threaded rods. This works perfectly, and was very easy to apply.
Does what is says, but be careful about using it on a 3D printer

This lubricant works great for most applications, so not going to knock any stars off for that. I did try this for the z lead screws of my 3D printer and ended up with significant wear of the brass lead nuts in a very short amount of time and the lead screws got hot enough to get discolored although they do not seem to have been damaged.
I did install anti-backlash nuts on my printer and I think the higher friction from those wore the lubricant off quicker than it would on a setup without the anti-backlash nuts. In my case, the printer started making metal on metal type sounds before I had even finished my second print after I applied this lubricant to the lead screws. I do have auto bed level, so the lead screws see a lot of movement over the travel distance used during bed leveling.

I went back to using light machine oil and have not had any issues since. Long story short, this works great for the right application, but may not be so great for lubrication of lead screws on a 3D printer, especially if you have ABL and spring loaded anti-backlash nuts on the lead screws.
Great idea, bad bottle, spills much too easily

This would get a 5 star if the bottle was anywhere near useful for applying the product, but good news first: I like this method of applying better than spray because you can better (sort of) control where you're applying it, and there's no spray flying around. I like that I can assemble something clean/dry without other lubes then pour it into the assembly where it can dry, as in pistol parts. I'd do this more than once and work it in each time, perhaps a little light oil when done.

The not so good part:
It has an alcohol base so use away from flames til it evaporates.

Don't forget to shake it til there's no settled out Teflon powder on the bottom of the bottle. Look closely, it looks like that little bit of milk that dried in the glass you forgot to rinse.

Having given your arm a good workout, be prepared for it to uncontrollably pour all over everything as soon as you tip it, so hold it lightly by the narrow sides, do NOT apply any pressure especially to the flat sides of the bottle or it will squirt even more than it's already dumped on your workpiece, which other than wasting product, isn't much of a problem unless you're playing with matches or lighting a smoke at the same time.

The best dispenser would be a fine needle syringe type applicator or an eye dropper if a big drop isn't way too much.
