Valterra Pure Power Blue works great. Virtually no odor between black tank dumps once a month, even in really hot climate like 90-100F for weeks on end. Two ounces is really all it takes. When we get home I flush the black tank thoroughly with a wand and put in several gallons of water and a couple ounces of Pure Power Blue to sit for a couple weeks. That helps hold down odors on the next trip. I highly recommend this product. On an odor scale of 1 - 10, one being putrid roadkill and 10 being fresh bed sheets out of the clothes dryer, this stuff is about a 9. I'll never use anything else.

It smells fresh, a cross between pine and bubble gum, but not too strong or pungeunt like other chemicals or additives. The consistency is unlike chemicals, it's watery and almost soapy. I bought a pack of small 4oz bottles to try, and am now ordering the gallon size to refill the smaller bottles (its easier to keep a pack of small bottles in a drawer than a large gallon). I've been using these for about a month and they work much better than the strong smelling chemicals and the Zep brand additives. I just empty a 4oz bottle into the toilet, fill the toilet with water, and flush!

This stuff works great at getting rid of the smell and breaking down the matter in the holding tank. When we bought our trailer the seller included a bottle of this and we have been using it since. We use about 2 oz. for our 30 gallon black tank and about 1 oz. for the 20 gallon gray water tank. Very pleased with the results.

One suggestion is if you are camping for extended period in hot weather we use 1/2 cup and get zero sewage or gas smells.
