Replaced stock speakers in a 2007 four door Honda Civic. Initially I had installed more expensive speakers with a higher RMS wattage which turned out to be underpowered by the stock headunit. This caused the sound to be flat and lacked bass.

Because I am retaining a stock appearance with the OEM headunit I went back to the drawing board and bought these. Replacing the other kit with the Rockford Fosgates made a world of difference! I now have some decent bass and the mids/ highs are really good! I did not want door panels rattling or my mirrors shaking, so these have just the right amount of depth to make music come alive.

I recommend buying this line of speakers if you are running a stock headunit without an amplifier. If you have an 8th generation civic, these are the way to go without question.

I wanted a speaker that could easily keep up with the typical aftermarket powered head, and/or wake up a stock system.
I bought these with a Metra adapter for my 06 Lacrosse, and didn't need the adapters. These fit the GM ABS speaker rings fine, and had plenty of clearance to the door panel.

I tried one door speaker with the stock Buick radio comparing L to R- even though the stock speakers were in perfect condition, there was no comparison, the intelligibility was marked.

When I put the other speaker in, the imaging was so much better, and even with the pathetic EQ on the stock GM unit, the bass was punchier and more distinct without the mud,

I then installled a JVC Double Din I got on Amazon for 93 bucks-
naturally the difference was not even worth discussing, but these speakers were a perfect compliment to reproducing a "low powered" head unit. The bang for the buck on this was so good, I ordered the Rockford Fosgate 6x9s to get the staging/imaging and quality I'm looking for.

For under 200 bucks for a head unit and 2 pair of Rockfords, you will be happy if you are just looking to upgrade a factory stereo to something that has some quality.

These speakers from R-F have an very refined, understated quality to them. Nothing flashy to look at like some other brands, but hey, that don't mean anything; or it means that they have quality where it counts - SOUND quality.

They are just about as compact a 2-way car speaker as you're gonna find. The mounting surface (lip) and the four mounting holes around the perimeter have just enough of a footprint to get the job done, and barely nothing more. What's more is the tweeter is so far countersunk down near the woofer's center that you will never ever have to worry about it interfering with your car's plastic door covers or anything else for that matter. In fact, the first time I looked them over, I thought they didn't even have tweeters! "Where's the tweeter?" "Oh, there it is!"

Sound quality-wise. What can I say? These speakers have a very natural sound, but since they are so small (5 1/4 in.), they just can't pump out very much bass. But that's OK. I have some 6X9's for that job.

Show me another speaker manufacturer that makes higher quality speakers at a lower price, and I'll gladly throw these in the trash bin and buy those. Highly Recommended!!!

I installed these on a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta sedan after both of the original passenger front and rear door speakers failed. First of all, these are not direct replacements and needed to be custom fit to the doors. The original speakers have a custom frame that position the speakers between the door and the door panel. I cut off half of the original speaker mount from the old speakers and used nuts and bolts to secure the speakers with the old mount to the doors at around the same position as the originals. I soldered the Rockford Fosgate speaker connections to the VW speaker plug on the mount that I cut away from the old speakers.Doing so also allowed me to used the original speaker plug with the new speakers.
Sound wise, the Rockford Fosgate speakers are clearer than the original VW speakers. this can be attributed to the fact that the Rockford Fosgate's are three-way and include the woofer, mid-range, tweeter; in contrast to the VW speakers which were just woofers. However, the original VW speakers had better bass on the low end.
I enjoy bass and would have liked to have more of it but overall, these speakers have a decent sound. If I were to redo the work that I had to do to mount these speakers, I would probably look for a set of speakers with lower bass while still providing the clarity of sound that these speakers provide.

I ordered two sets of these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my "˜98 Yukon. One of the stock speakers didn't work, and another one had a big hole in the cheap paper cone. I swapped all 4 stock door speakers out for these and the difference is remarkable. Much clearer, fuller sound with very little distortion at a great price. The installation is a breeze. I just spliced the included wires with spade connectors onto the wiring harnesses in the doors, mounted them, and everything worked flawlessly. Great deal. Highly recommended.
