Good parts, good price, best bargain ever.

This item is a life saver, was about spending a total of $1600 on my nissan altima 09 (parts and labor charges) from the dealer before I decided to try something from Amazon. I ended up spending $185 (parts and shipping) Plug and play, no hassles, no stress. I will recommend this item for anyone. When I received the package, parts looks different from the original parts that I took out from my car but the wire plug is the same and it matches pretty good. I sent email to Amazon cuz initially I tot it was not gonna work but I received email from the seller immediately and they explained to me that it's the new version of steering lock column for Nissan altima 09. Big up to you guys.

Of course, I just purchased this for my 2009 Altima and they issued a recall on it. It fit perfectly and I have submitted my refund request to Nissan.
Saved Almost $1,000 by Doing it Myself!

The product which arrived was the 48700-9N00A, not the ..B model depicted in the item listing. The product box had a 48700-9N00B label covering up the actual part label - which stated the item was the 48700-9N00A unit.
Fortunately, these two parts working are interchangeable and work the same.
I had it installed on my 2010 Nissan Maxima in less than 30 minutes and was back on the road. I disconnected the negative battery cable for safety, so I would recommend doing the same.
All you need is a medium philips screwdriver to remove the lower dash, and a 3/8 (If I recall) socket to remove the two nuts on the unit, which face the passenger side of the vehicle.

... reviews before I purchased this part and I am glad that I did

I read the reviews before I purchased this part and I am glad that I did. This part worked perfectly once my my mechanic got it in. The previous customers were right you do not need to program the car after you get part and use the screws to hold the part in place. My mechanic put it on for me because I wouldnt know how to put it on ( I'm a typical woman). Nissan wanted $790 for this part, I got it on Amazon for $384. Nissan is crazy, I would never by parts from them.
Very Easy Repair

The ESCL went out on my husband's 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5S about a month ago. We did extensive research, and after receiving estimates from multiple dealerships ranging from $950-1,100, we decided to try the hammer trick. This got us through for nearly a month until it once again left him stranded, this time when he was picking our kids up from school. We had read the reviews on this part and decided to give it a try. It was tricky getting a good angle on the screws, so I took off the bracket that is just above the part (just undo the four bolts). Once I did that, I was able to get a grip on the screws with a pair of needle-nose pliers. After that, it was pretty much plug-and-play. No programming was required, unlike what the dealerships tried to tell us. (Note: This was not on a hybrid; I have read that hybrids do require programming). We couldn't be happier with our purchase. This was a very simple repair that saved us a lot of money.
