Great game (better on PC)

Play Diablo on the computer and this game when it first came out, was exactly like it. Played through once but since I play on the computer, I haven't really played it since. It's still a fun game; just seems there's so much more to the computer game than the console.
The game was very...boring.

Why 2 stars?

Maybe the experience is better for the PC version but I didnot like it for ps3.

I am a huge fan of the Blizzard and their games and I was greatly disappointed with the quality of Diablo 3
Cons-
Hardly any re-playable value.. only reason to replay is to get better items and beat difficulties.
Clunky UI, hard to choose little things like default network settings and item management
Boring story line and cut scenes... I mean, skyrim does this beautifully... and I know that blizzard is better than this as I am huge fan of starcraft series.... especially the fact that it took blizzard 4 years to crank this out... no excuses.

Anyway, bottom line, the money can be better spent on other games.
Not a fan as a person new to Diablo

I have never played a Diablo game before and I bought this as my friends wanted to play it with me. To be honest, I found the game repetitive and boring. There is a seemingly stereotypical (for this type of game) plot line you follow. I will say from research and friends who own the PC verison, the PS3 version is the way to go as your player control is much more intuitive (PC =clicking where you need to go versus PS3 = moving with controller).

It seems that the point of Diablo III is a never ending quest to level up your characters, get new things, etc. This was appealing for a while but it just seemed to get redundant after a while. Game play with friends doesn't particularly change the game besides that now you have more people to fight the bad guys with. In fact, you do exactly all the same things you do in single player mode, cinema scenes, talking to people, and everything.

I tend to agree with zero punctuation on this one: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/5777-Diablo-3.
Best RPG I've played in a while

Diablo III is a well done RPG game that excided my expectations in almost every aspect. I first became interested in Diablo III from Polaris's video with JonTron, Cryatic, Uberhaxornova, and Markiplier playing the pc version on Hardcore mode and seeing who could last the longest, and I thought "that looks pretty fun" and decided to get it. The game plays very well and is aesthetically pleasing, the game also provides a good continuation to its predecessors storyline. The game is very fair with its leveling up system, allowing the player proceed through the game without having to grind on standard difficulty. Diablo III has possible the most diversity in difficulties that I have ever seen, ranging from the standard easy, normal, hard difficulty's to master I-V to even hardcore mode, where death is permanent. Along with the vast difficulties, Diablo has five different classes, each with their own skill system, play style, and weapon types (Monk, Witch Doctor, Berserker, Mage, and Demon Hunter). These two things, the difficulty and the classes, allow for the game to be replayed over and over again. The only thing that upset me was that the console version of Diablo III doesn't have the Reaper of Souls dlc (If there was, I would buy it as soon as possible). Besides for that I am very satisfied with my purchase of Diablo III, and hope this review helped you with your decision.
Its Not Like it Used to Be but Its Still Fun

Diablo and Diablo 2 really changed the way Quest RPGs and MMORPGs were seen in my eyes. From the all the great loot, to the everchanging maps, and difficult quests, Blizzard and Diablo consistently brought pleasure in exchange for my dollar. I must have spent hours upon hours as a kid playing Diablo in the basement of my parents house. Well here is Diablo 3 for the PS3 and while the graphics and game play have definitely been kicked up a notch, there is a bit something missing. In the first of the Diablo series, one had the feeling of an open map with a host of choices to make, where as now, the game feels some what limited in its interactions with content outside of the story line. The game also feels set up in a way to push the player through game play as quickly as possible. In three gaming sessions I was able to kill Diablo and I only died 5 or 6 times on my quest to kill him. I played a Wizard and once I figured out a great method for attack he became too over powered and the fights in the game really were a means to get more loot instead of a challenge to progress the plot.

All that being said, the characters, graphics, game design, game flow, are of the highest quality I've come across lately. The game is incredibly dynamic but easy to play. The graphics in the cut scenes are amazing. The story line is alright and follows the same path as the previous 2 games, more or less.

If you love the series this game will fit nicely into your collection, if however, you are brand new to Diablo, the game is worth a couple of run throughs.
