Arrived sooner than predicted. The machining is a bit rough. There is a hole in the rear that doesn't appear threaded. I haven't had a chance to test the symmetry of the magnetic field produced. It does drop off rather quickly.

So I went and used a large plate. It has a ton of pull force at a very close distance. Prior to trying this, I had been using a small piece of plate. I took the saw blade off of my circular saw and tried that and it was stuck hard to it.
