Distracting fun

Fun little game to play while killing time or doing something else, like watching something on TV that doesn't need your full attention.
I really enjoy that I'm not timed [I play on the Adventure level], since I'm usually doing something else, or I might get interrupted. There is a more competitive level where you can be timed, if you want.
I believe the game is standard for these jewel type games, but if you are not familiar with them, this is it: You are given a grid of tiles with different pictures on each tile. The object is to switch two tiles that are next to each other to make rows or columns of three or more like-images. When you do, the like-images will disappear, all the tiles above will shift into their place and new tiles will be added from above. There are three counters on the left showing three different symbols and you have to make matches of those symbols until the counters are full. Tiles also have symbols that aren't of the three that you are trying to get. You can match them and get "money".
There are also impediments that make it a little more difficult as you progress through the game. First you start with colors on the tiles that mean you have to clear that square multiple times. This usually isn't that hard unless you get one in a weird position. Then there are chains to break by matching the tile pictures that are a little more difficult because you can't move that tile until the chain is broken. Also, the grid changes; it isn't always square, so some of the areas are harder to get then others.
None of this is really hard, though, because, as you progress, you are given some extra tools to help eliminate tiles, like a thunder bolt that will knock out a bunch of tiles at once. It "costs" to use these tools, but you "earn" money easily throughout the game and rarely need to use the tools.
The game also lets you know where a switch can be made if you take too long to figure it out [this may only be in adventure mode]. And sometimes when you make a match and the tiles are shifting, the game also takes out some tiles that aren't related to the switch. I believe it does this to make sure you always have future switches.
In between playing the matching-tile games, you can help some people rebuild their village, but that really isn't challenging. Cute, but not necessary. Oh, and to "open" another area of the village to rebuild, you have to do a tile grid that IS timed, but if you don't get it done in time, you can just click on the box that says "give me more time" and then it's easy.
All-in-all, an easy, but fun and addicting little game. The graphics are really cute, too.

Excessive Permissions? That's debatable, obviously- like why do you need wifi on to play? That being said, you get what you pay for. However, Big Fish Games Jewel Legends was fast paced for me and after I finished completing the village, I wanted another one to build! I had no problems with levels, an occasional glitch when my tablet sleeps if I leave the game to do something else but that's not a real big deal, just press the on button to awaken. It's addictive that's for sure. Because I finished, I had to create another player name.
The graphics are fun, gorgeous and the power-ups are something rediscovered; after playing it again this time, have across some tricks to playing for several gadgets. Clever use of color and animation, this game is a good time pleaser. I play it almost daily with QuizUp.

I can truly recommend this game to anyone that loves matching games. The graphics are excellent and the colors are beautiful. There are two modes of play, zen and timed. If you require a bit more of a challenge start the timed mode to see if you have what it takes to complete it. If your looking for a more relaxed pace, then zen mode is for you. On another note, you have to be sure you have plenty of memory for this game before you download. You need at least 1gb of RAM for the game to work without freezing up, or any glitches from happening. This game, for the price, is well worth it. Tree of Life can be a game to get lost in, you start playing and then the next thing you know a few minutes to a few hours has passed. If your interested in finding out if Tree of Life is a game for you, try the free trial, then decided if you want to pay for the full version. I play this on a Lenovo IdeaTab and have had no problems. :)
Nice graphics

You get to build the tree of life. Now that is kewl. I liked it. Good graphics. However when I got to the last two construction sites I was able to play the first two out of ten for one site then it wouldn't let me play. Being that I had enough materials I was able to finish building the tree of life without playing the last two sites. That was in adventure mode.
In tournament mode it's interesting. Your on a time mode . You have to knock out the color tiles and chained tiles. If there is no consistency in the screen play your energy goes down. The only downfall with this one is that if you're on level seven and run out of energy you have to start all over from level one.
The last one free play, is just that playing and killing time. This is good for the kids. They don't get aggravated and ask you for help...lol.

I liked the Kindle \version of this enough to turn around and buy the PC version so I could play it on a larger screen and at home. It is a different sort of match three game and can be a little time consuming as it can take a while to get through a level. The more "cash" you earn as you play the more helps you get in clearing the board and the more expensive they get (we are not talking real money here, just the Monopoly sort). It does take some thought as you play and you can manipulate the matches to help you clear a tough section so it isn't just the usual mind-numbing match three that you find with other games of this sort. Play the demo version first, then decide.
