A Very Good Tailpiece

A great option for a tailpiece when building a cigar box guitar or dulcimer-style instrument. The item comes in a three-hole or four-hole style. The three-hole is great for 3-string guitars and dulcimers with a two-string drone high note. Cut a groove in the bridge for the double string drones. As with all things Gitty, this is the right item for many cigar box projects.
The easiest strings to use with this are the ball end style, although you can use loops as well. If using loops, put a protective sleeve over the string where it goes through the hole to keep it from being cut. I use the shrink tubes used in electronic projects that are intended to insulate joined wired from ground; fish tank air tubing may work as well.

This great little hinge is durable and pleasant looking. Very useful for CBG tail pieces, CBG neck braces, or yes, even as a hinge! If you need a durable hinge, buy one of these doodly-dads.
