Have two aquatic turtles that are extremely messy and the previous filter I had just wasn't cutting it. The fluval fx6 is quite impressive, keeps my turtles aquarium clean all the time it was well worth the money I spent. Highly recommend this cannister filter

Quit researching and just buy it!! Bought for my 125 G with 4 aquatic turtles plus a dozen plus fish....tap water like crystal clear water and silent!
Terrible design, constant attention and fiddling required!

I've never encountered more complications with a filter than I have since I've purchased this model over a year ago. The air bubble issue is real problem. I've tried all sorts fixes including adjusting the media and tightening up the hoses to no avail. There is also the issue of sand getting in the motor. This forces the owner to remove the motor and rinse which in turn causes the flimsy screw/nut combination embedded in the plastic to become loose. This may be where air comes in I'm not sure, but after a year and a half of ownership I am thoroughly disappointed.
