My husband recommended this brand to me as it's the same one he uses as a physical therapist. I figured they were very durable due to daily use and rarely needed replacement, so they would be perfect for my home use. I wanted the heaviest of the lot because it helps stretch my back by placing it on my feet. I feared the lighter ones would roll off and hit me in the face. Anyhow, I've seen other balls reviewed and people mention inflating them. These are not to be inflated and are meant to have a give so you can grip them. The sand-like material is weighted and you don't feel it move around at all even though it bends to your grip. Although shiny, it is not slippery. However, I do not use it with sweaty hands, so I cannot fully affirm how great it would be. It has a tacky texture that I'm sure helps with perspiration. I'm very happy with my purchase but wish they were not so pricey so I could get the whole set. Even though I don't know what I'd use them for, they are fun to hold and exercise with.

Exactly what I was looking for. Some other therapeutic balls were heavy but too large. This is a true, small medicine ball (I purchased the 6lb ball).

I use these for Shot Put and Discus training with my athletes, throwing them in at a block handball court to get more reps in and so far they are holding up great. I need more. They are more expensive than other brands and as a coach I have to buy them myself but for what I need them for they work excellent. Maybe do a fundraiser so I can get the set and possible more :)

I was introduced to these weights at my physiotherapist's and it was love at first sight. The fact that these weights are soft means you don't have to worry about dropping them on the floor (or yourself) and the effort required to grip and stabilize them adds an extra dimension to exercises that you don't get with dumbbells. Although I do use them as part of a preset exercise routine I get more use out of them from just playing around. I keep one of them beside me while reading or watching TV and every few minutes I'll pick it up and experiment with different motions and grips. These balls are just fun.

I suffer from tendinitis in my shoulder. With this ball you can do a lot of the rehab exercises in your own home.

The coating is perfect, no smell, just the right amount of give. It feels perfect in my hands and I can hold it through the full range of motion.

It will go a little "flat" if you let it sit for a period, but it bounces right back to shape.
