It works but the lines are blurry any closer than 2 feet

It works but the lines are blurry if it is closer than a couple of feet from the surface it is pointed at. I wanted to use it as a reference datum for my CNC router but the lines are blurry and close to.080" or so thick at 6" away. I'll use it for something though so I'm still glad that I bought it. I might try to correct the focus with a lens.

Love the fact that is has the cross line on it.

Specifications states that the width of the lines is 1mm at 40cm. It seems that it was more like 2mm at that distance. About to give up i decided to remove the caulking to try to remove the laser module for inspection from the tube housing by yanking on the wires. To my surprise somehow the laser module moved further away from the lens to make the line thickness thinner by approximately 1mm. Didn't want to pull further for fear of ripping off the wires. Will be using this on a CNC machine to help find edges of materials. Wish they had designed the laser to be adjustable so you could variate the thickness of the lines. I would have paid extra for such functionality. Such a good laser too bad...
