I bought these to take field notes for my military and law enforcement jobs. They work well for me and seem to hold up. I use a regular pen which works just fine.
I didn't see the point of "Rite in the Rain", now I do.

I didn't buy these sooner because I felt these would be too similar to the dollar store notepads that I have used in the past, I also felt that the paper used in these would feel very plasticy and writing on them would be difficult. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I used this notepad in conjunction with a Pilot G2 and had the following impressions:
- The cover is a nice thick plastic, the inside includes conversions and useful references
- The pages have what resembles a thin coating but it doesn't affect performance of the pen or the writing sensation
- The pages tear cleanly and without fuss from the pad if needed but are sturdy enough to not get torn accidentally
I would definitely recommend that you pick up a pad if you're looking for something to quickly jot notes into and this is definitely the perfect size to include in a breast pocket.

These are great to have on your person or in your kit at all times. I don't leave my house without one of these either on my person or in my bag. They are great for taking down information in less than ideal climates and exchanging or leaving important notes and information for other people without a smartphone. When traveling internationally these are a must.
