NIST certificate was expired by 4 months upon arrival.

Purchased this Thermometer on August 8th 2017. It arrived on August 11th 2017. We ordered this because we needed an NIST traceable thermometer for our food manufacturing facility for temperature calibration. It arrived with a calibration due date of Apr 2017. It's been expired for 4 months. As any one knows who has to deal with auditors and temperature verification programs, you have to have a NIST traceable thermometer that has been calibrated with a certificate to show compliance. We will have to return it and purchase from a more reputable source. Seems like a dumping ground for expired certificate thermometers.
Beware item has expired calibrration certificates!

Calibration certificate was expired, and the thermometer read 2 degrees higher than the actual temperature. I returned the item got a replacement with another expired certificate.

So, it seems that some of our reviewers need to go back to high school and learn the difference between accuracy and resolution. Units such as this one are available for under $20; BUT the additional cost incurred with this unit is certification against a NIST standard and the certification document. Certification is a "by hand" procedure and the calibration period is determined by many factor. A re-certification fee of $10 is ridiculously inexpensive.
Overall, a well made little unit. It provided ice-bath results identical to a more expensive "scientific unit." This is not a rugged device like what the HVAC folks carry around that costs several hundreds of dollars, but it is adequate for many purposes. I think at the current discounted price, it is a recommended buy.
