As stated in the item description, I received 200 live duckweed plants. However, they did not stay that way. I had read online that duckweed will pretty much grow in just plain tap water, and while I was a little dubious, I decided to start out by trying that with some tap water I had allowed to off-gas for several days to remove any chlorine. After twenty four hours pretty much all of it was white and dead or dying. I read online that duckweed does need a nutrient supply and can't, as it is sometimes advertised (not by this seller, which is why I'm leaving five stars) be grown in tap water with no nutrients. Ammonia is preferred so I used some aquarium ammonia to feed the plants and about ten percent of the plants recovered and are now happily dividing and establishing a healthy colony. I'm sure most of them would have made it if my tank had been better prepared. if you have an aquarium it should grow fine from the ammonia supplied by your fish. If your growing it as fish feed like I am, make sure you have a supply of ammonia on hand before you buy!

If you can't find this in a ditch near your house, this is your next best option.
It really seems like they just scooped this out of a pond or something. It came in a regular zip-lock bag. Nothing special really. There was some tea colored water and sticks floating around in the bag. Aside from some leaking, the packing was good. It showed up with a heat pack and plenty of insulation.

The duck weed is growing fine. Only a few individuals were DOR (dead on arrival). Good for light coverage in any pond or tank. Although, once in a body of water, its almost impossible to exterminate.

Considering the price, its hard to justify this purchase. Put some time into finding duck weed growing at a nearby park before you commit to an online order. Duckweed is native to much of the US; you can find some if you look hard enough.

Arrived quickly and alive. Some brown leaves, but what few there were either perked back up in the water or...became shrimp food. Which is what I intended in the long run, anyway :) Since puttting these in my planted tank a few weeks ago, the plants have multiplied, and my fish, shrimp, and snails really seem to enjoy them!

Arrived in 2 sauce cups with lids and those cups were in a plastic bag. The plants themselves are healthy and green and there is more than I expected which I'm very happy about. I did experience some leakage with this though as there was some residual water in the bag that must have leaked onto the box. It was not a problem since it was a very small leak and I'm sure it was just a result of handling during shipment. Overall, very happy with this order.
