I put this on my basement door to help keep water penetration out and so it didn't make it inside the home. It is working quite well for the job I needed and I have not had anymore water coming it. I did put a small bead of caulk on the back surface before I screwed it to the door though just to make sure no water would run behind it.

I replaced the threshold for an exterior door that is directly exposed to the weather. I wanted to keep as much of the wet weather off of it as possible. This is the best that I could find for what I needed. My situation is more complicated because the door has an inward swing; therefore the sweep has to be positioned high enough to clear the high point of the threshold and also cut short enough to clear the door frame. It is much easier to install one of these when the door swings out. Overall I'm very happy with the results.
