I purchased the over a year ago for travel. The pot has a wide arm, body is made of plastics, but It boils water quickly. I have cook various soups and chicken breast with no problems. I resently gave it to a friend to use in her beauty shop and it was working fine. I will order this product again. If you are looking for a pot to decorate your kitchen counter "wrong pot."
Inner Coating Leaches/Flakes

After searching for a multi-pot, hot-pot, kettle, etc. that can be used to boil water, we settled on this one, due to the bad ratings from most of the other versions. Unfortunately, this has started having the same problems - Flaking. After just 3 months of light use, the coating is releasing black particles into the water. This was not used for anything other than boiling water (absolutely no cooking, whatsoever, in it) and was always handled with care. It's disappointing that these products fail on the main task they are designed for - heating. The cheap components are not made to last, and one worries how long small particles have been leeching into the water, before they became visible. This is really not acceptable. And now the search continues for a multi-pot that is reliable - won't rust, won't flake and won't die off after a few uses.

My 82 year old mother loves this pot. She uses it for everything, from water for her coffee to soups and stews, all from the comfort of her recliner. It's much safer than having her in the kitchen standing at the stove. This pot boils water quickly and the large handle makes it super easy to hold. This is the second pot I've purchased for her. She had the first for 5 years and used it, at minimum twice a day, everyday, 7days a week.
