First thing to know is that I have planted over 200 rose bushes in my lifetime - 151 at an acre an a half I had in San Diego! So I know rose scent. When I lean over and sniff the vase of roses sitting on the desk next to me I get a deep, musky smell. That is what I thought this would be, based upon the name "True Rose Dusting Powder." This, on the other hand, is more of a sweet -- almost cheap smelling -- perfume. If you know roses, you'll know what I mean. Combined with the cardboard box top, I think this product is way over-priced.

I was really excited to receive this product based upon its reviews. Yes, the powder does smell like roses, but I don't think the scent is perfect. The rose scent has an artificial way about it, although it's very minimal. I will still use the product, as the smell isn't off enough to deter me. The powder itself is decent. It's talc based, so be careful about areas you use it in. The cardboard box it comes in is a bit of a pain. The top lifts off, and there's a spot where the puff sits; half of it has holes. The holes prevent too much powder from attaching to the puff, but it also prevents enough powder from being used. It can be frustrating if you're in a hurry. I frequently have to tip the container on its side or upside down and tap it a few times to get enough powder out to use. Once I have enough powder, the product slides on my skin smoothly, and leaves a delicate scent.
All in all I do like this product and will continue to buy it if I can't find anything that better suits my needs. However, I will keep my eye open for a replacement product that has a little better designed container, and has a smell that is more authentic to my nose.

Fast shipping, very well packaged, arrived in new condition, no dents, scratches, etc. In my opinion, the best moderately priced Rose scent generally and consistently available. The quality and durability of the puff and sifter are a cut above the usual low to mid-range store brands. Body powder is fabulous and is necessary for anyone in hot, humid climate, or who tends to over heat. Conversely it is also helpful in cold dry seasons as it helps prevent itching, chafing, absorbs a degree of sweat, and just makes a person feel more comfortable and beautiful. Great for itchy skin. A part of the Vintage skin care routine that should be generally revived. I will be buying this for years to come. Tip: Do not pat it on your body but gently press the puff into the powder, tap off excess and gently slide the puff over your skin. This prevents powder getting everywhere but where you want it.

First thing's first - this stuff's fragrance is potent! It's not light smelling - it is fiercely rosey. And if you're someone who likes that smell (like myself) then this is a wonderful purchase! I love it, and use it twice a day. I think it works great and smells awesome. The only complaint I have is about the pouf in the container - it's a little thin and isn't as luxurious as I dreamt it would be. But it's a great product, overall.

I love this powder. It smells wonderful! I love that it comes with a powder puff to apply it. The powder is very fine and a light layer works very well and doesn't look white everywhere like regular paper powder or like shower to shower powder. I like it so much I think I'll get more for gifts.

I know others had complaints about improper packaging but I recently ordered mine through Amazon Prime so it was shipped by Amazon and I had no problems. The powder does come in a white paper/card stock container but the holes have a plastic sticker to help keep it inside. Some did seep out during shipping which I would expect since I live in Alaska but it was wrapped in it's own plastic bag and secured with tape so nothing else got powder on it.
