I was skeptical when purchasing this for my windlass but ...

I was skeptical when purchasing this for my windlass but the lewmar replacement was almost $300, so I figured give it a try. Took only a few minutes for me to disconnect my old lewmar remote and install this. Seems to work perfectly. No wiring diagram in the package but the photo on Amazon with the item description has a diagram and that was spot on. Just installed it today 7/25/17 so I can't speak for the longevity of it, but my lewmar only lasted two years and got wet inside the remote.

It seems to work great! I can now control my anchor windless from the original fore deck foot switch, the Lower Helm and the Upper Helm.
I just installed it and have only run a few tests. If the electronics last, it will be a wonderful addition.

I would buy again, not the best, but great value for the money. Might buy another one as a back up.

Let tell you what it does well first. It retrieves the anchor well when standing on the front of my boat. It has a key chain hole a the top of the remote, has a mount, seems like it is sealed well, affordable, but a winch remote is cheaper, but compared to a winch it lets the chain out on my Lewmar 700 windlass at about roughly quarter speed. 3 different winch type remotes only let the chain out about 6 inches every 2 seconds. It retrieves at regular speed. Maybe it only lets it out slowly to make small adjustments....
In reality I drop my anchor from the steering wheel anyway. My wife can use the remote while I drive to the anchor and or avoid issues with currents or boats as the anchor is being retrieved.
It's the best remote so far compared to a few on here and the badlands winch remote. Although it doesn't have a switch safety cover, but the mount is nice comparatively. I used 3m dual lock type velcro vs putting a hole in my dash for the mount. The other remote is also velcro'd on the inside of the overhead electronics cabinet encase of an emergency where someone drops it in the drink. It is also slippery and small so I may add something to the surface - maybe a gritty paint. For now I added 1/8" line tied into a half hitch knot braided to 1 foot, to give it something to snatch as it's tumbling towards the deck/water
