This was a great buy for the price. I have never tested if it's in tune or not, but since I don't need to use it in a concert setting it doesn't really matter (it sounds pretty correct though). The tone is nicer than I thought, maybe a little shallow in the higher notes, but even my nice one does that as well. Overall it is a quality ocarina and I even got another one for a Christmas gift for a friend.

Feels great, works great. This is my first ocarina, and I didn't want to spend a lot not knowing if I would like it. I love it! It's tuned correctly, as I matched my daughter's flute note for note. It's easy to play and I look forward to learning a lot more songs. I was playing basic tunes in less than an hour!

After owning this for several months I can say that it is an amazing product. It is made of clay and really feels authentic. The noise it produces sounds very nice to me and everyone who hears it however please keep in mind that I am no musician. I would have expected to pay way more than what I did and for that I believe it is a great product for your money and great for anyone of any age to play

As a new ocarina player but a long time musician and wind instrument player, this ocarina is kind of awful. The notes are airy and the tones are not true throughout. The lower notes are nearly indistinguishable, and the upper notes lack tone, no matter the level of breath used. Many of the forums warn to stay away from this brand, as the quality control has slipped recently. Spend an extra $15 or so and get something like the Night by Noble if you are looking for an instrument. If you are only looking for a costume piece, this is a wonderful choice. It is heavy, and very attractive looking. It also comes with a nice pouch and necklace. But it is not a quality instrument.

The product arrived scratched all to pieces. Some of the bigger ones are tactile, you can feel them with your hands, they're deep. I'm still debating returning it, though since I purchased it for the purpose of repainting it, the scratches are just going to be sanded out if I do keep the thing. Very upset with the packaging quality. If I deem that one bad scratch near the pointed end to be too deep to sand off without affecting the sound, I'll be requesting a return. I might return it anyways just because the sound quality is not what I had expected.

That having been said, this ocarina plays in tune. As a pro player, I'm likely the best judge of an ocarina's sound you could find, and this model isn't completely terrible for being only twenty dollars. The tuning is borderline perfection. The indentations for the sub-holes makes this ocarina easier to hold than any I've owned, which is unnecessary because again, pro player here, but that's still a perk. The thing that bugs me is the sound quality. The high notes on this thing are extremely shrill and the highest note, F, comes out very raspy and airy. even when playing very gently. The low notes sound like they're coming from a plastic recorder, a hallmark of a "cheap" ocarina. It has neither a nice tone to it, nor does it look good, and the high notes are utterly garbage. ...Still on the fence about returning it... I did buy it more for an art project than to play, after all....
