PLEASANT SURPRISE! I usually avoid all painting accessories that claim to make painting easier. I even avoid using tape. I've painted a lot of walls and homes and prefer to go old school for better quality. A friend shipped me this and I only tried it because it was gifted to me. It totally worked for fast rolling!! Since then I have bought two more. I use them for a painting project and then buy another for another project. Preferring not to store it long term. It NEEDS to be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly to reuse which isn't too hard if your handy. After extended use it can suffer clogged pores or even one that forces too much paint out. Best for a couple of rooms needing a roll. Then buy a new one.

I was initially hesitant because of the mixed reviews I was reading, but this product is so worth it if you're going to be painting a lot or a large area.
Some important notes.
1. Make sure to clean everything as said. It takes a little time to properly clean everything, but it scrubs up pretty easily. Follow the directions for clean-up as stated.
2. Lubrication of all the pieces they tell you is a must. It keeps parts moving easily and working properly. I actually bought a container of vasoline so I grease up everything very good and have had no leaks or issues.
3. Take your time. If you rush and push too hard the roller head could pop off. Happened to my wife once but she was trying to finish a room in a hurry. I've painted 7 rooms in our new house and have not 1 issue.
4. Do yourself a favor and buy extra duck bills (they eventually wear out) but fortunately they are pretty cheap. Also i like painting with a 3/4 nap roller. I feel the paint went on much smoother with that type of roller.

Great tool and time saver! Wish I had gotten it earlier! Made painting a 16' x 30' deck a breeze. May be a little heavy for some for overhead work, and it's not designed for tight spaces due to the ratchet mechanism extension when fully loaded with paint. I find it eliminates drips and spreads an even coating of paint. I have not had an issue with leaks as some have reported, but I do reapply petroleum jelly to all gaskets as instructed. I also haven't had any issues with clean up "“ actually, I find it is a lot easier than using a paint tray or a sprayer. Time wise, cleaning out the roller's main body and roller pad takes no more time than cleaning up a paint tray, drips on a can from pouring paint into the tray, and cleaning the roller pad itself. I have cleaned this roller both inside at the kitchen sink and outside with a bucket. Like any paint method with a roller, the cleanup time for the pad itself is the longest process, unless you usually use a disposable roller; and no cleanup will be as fast as tossing out a paint soaked pad.
Great for larger jobs.

This worked great, even with very thick paint. Liked the fact that is sucks the paint right from the can into the unit creating no mess. I only wish I had had more area to paint when I first tried this as it did take as long to clean the unit up as it did to paint the walls. I will correct that with my next batch of painting. Cleanup is not bad but like all rollers, cleaning the roller itself takes a long time, but since these are special rollers (internal holes to feed the business end) they are more expensive and one would like to get two or more uses from one. The actual painting went very smoothly, with almost no spatter and absolutely no dripping. Price is certainly right for what you get.

This has made painting at least 4 times faster. As long as you follow the instructions and remember to clean everything out as soon as you're done with it, it is phenomenal! I did an entire room in about an hour and a half, and that was being lazy with it. In conjunction with using the smart edge roller and a corner painter, I was able to paint everything and also used much less paint than when I dumped it for a regular roller. I did get lazy and forgot to clean it right away one time, wrecked the roller brush but was able to clean everything else fairly easy. Just remember to follow the clean up instructions and you'll have no problems!!
