In looking for ways to make lunch more interesting for the little ones, I came across these egg molds. My kids have an on again/off again relationship with hard boiled eggs so I hoped these would help. Initially I was worried that being plastic, and with a small price tag, that these would be very cheaply made. I opened the box and my kids were immediately excited by the molds. They are heavier than I anticipated and the plastic is very thick. They seem very durable, especially at their price point. Using them is easy and they do work well. I think the quicker you can peel and put the egg into the mold, the better they come out. I havent tried them with rice yet, but plan on doing so soon. I would buy more if they ever add new shapes.

I love making bento lunches for myself and I always get comments about how I make my eggs into such funky shapes. The molds are sturdy and they work well.
My only issue is that some of the molds work better with different eggs shapes; for example, the heart and star work better was larger eggs while the rabbit and fish work better with medium sized eggs. You have to experiment with different egg sizes. If it's too small, it might not take any shape and if it's too big, the excess will squeeze out of the mold. You also have to experiment with the placement of the egg to get the best shape.
You really have to read the directions to get results. You have to peel the eggs and put it in the mold while it's still hot, then put it in cold water for about 15 minutes. Cooling the eggs before molding doesn't work.

I wasn't expecting much from this but the kids had some fun with it for sure. You simply put the rice in and then shake it and YES the rice does turn into a ball but the rice isn't stuck together well so it crumbles after you try to get it out. Possibly try sticky rice and see if that works.
The other items are pretty confusing. They say they are shapes to make boiled eggs but I am not sure if they would work. The seal on them isn't that good so I imagine the egg will leak out when you try to boil them.
Overall the kids loved them and I am certain they will play with them for a good while.

The egg molds i really like it's just the rice ball maker the clear part is too big and it doesn't close all the way I'm afraid to use it but I'll try if it doesn't work then I'll have to send it back let's hope it works so fingers crossed I will update if it works or not

They are a lot bigger than I thought they would be. You need larger eggs. You have to peel the egg while they're still hot put them in the mold and then put them in cold water so it is a little hard to use . If you use cold eggs it doesn't work. The plastic is a little flimsy not the best quality. But it gets the job done and my kids enjoy having shaped boiled eggs.
