Plan on resharpening
C Erick Martin•December 7, 2017
PROS:Cool looking knife with a great point for dispatching a fish. Pretty decent handle too.
CONS: It is absolutely the dullest knife I have ever purchased. Plan on spending some time to put an actual edge on it. The serrated portion isn't even very sharp!

Nice knife - awful retaining loop!
Mel C. Labrador•September 19, 2017
I did not want to return the knife. However, like other reviewers, the primary issue I have with the knife is the rubber retaining loop on the sheath.
Awful! When I opened the package, the retaining loop looked like it was ready to break before I even removed the knife for the first time. I returned the knife because why keep the knife if after the first time I use it, it gets lost. I'm purchasing the one with the self-locking sheath.

The knife does exactly what it is supposed to do ...

The knife does exactly what it is supposed to do, dispatch fish...
seems to be a simple but well built knife that so far has kept its edge. It does require a freshwater rinse and drying before putting it away

The blade length is perfect for those large Palegic fish
Christine AZ•December 19, 2016
This is a no frills killing knife. It is intended to be stabbed into a large fishes head while its thrashing around with a spear in it and at this it does well. The blade length is perfect for those large Palegic fish, and the blade shape is exactly the same as the old sykes and fairbaines commando knives; designed to pierce between rib or bone without getting stuck. A straight edge on one side and a serrated edge on the other allows it to double as a dive knife. Yes you can cut line with it, and the point is even good for prying out old knots in anchor line. The sheath needs a little bit of modification but it is functional out of the box.
Great knife, so so holster

Had this knife for a while and I absolutely love it. I use it every dive and it works flawlessly. The only complaint I have is the retention strap that holds the knife doesn't last long. Mine recently ripped and I lost the knife. Great knife needs better retention method
