The body of this Medium costume fit my almost ten pound Havanese dog like a glove (just fit him) and velcroed at the bottom with no room for growth. The hooded portion was not right. The ears would not stand up, so I had to sew them back a bit to help them stand more upright. The top did not stand up like in the picture unless maybe a dog who had ears that stand up inside it, can support it in that position. My dog has floppy ears. The hood itself was also far too long in front, even when tied tightly. My dog has short front legs, like his breed. Perhaps a size small hood would have fit better, since this one covered just about all of his legs and body from the front...too large.
I really shoild have sewn the hood smaller, but he was still recognozed as an Ewok by passers by when he walked with a harness over the costume. The quality is just okay. I posted a picture of him here...if it works.

This is an adorable dog costume, but it's way to big! Even with safety pins, I just couldn't get it to fit my dog. However, her anger in the outfit made for some adorable pictures. I think if you order down a size, or if you have better sewing skills, it will work for your dog. I do like that the head piece can be tied. I couldn't tie it small enough for my dog, but if if fits your dog, it will ensure it stays on.

I wonder if this counts as animal cruelty? I love the concept of this costume so very much, but I wish the hat stayed upright better. It flops down and falls down in the face and I feel that you can't really tell what it is unless you're looking at him head on. If it did I would have rated 5 stars. I ordered a Medium for my 15lb porky Yorkie. It fit well enough around the chest, but it wasn't really long enough. He may have only worn it a few minutes, but it was worth every. Single. Penny.

Medium was perfect size for my 15-pound Shih Tzu mix. Body costume is soft - attaches around body with velcro and legs fit in the sleeves. Fits well, not tight. Headpiece also a good fit - adjusts with drawstring - I'll play around with that a bit so it stays around his head better. Very pleased with purchase.

Cute and fit perfectly. The only alteration I made was cutting out the ears so that my dog's ears could poke out instead. We used it in a local star wars themed parade. The small fit my 6 pound toy poodle perfectly.

The only reason I knocked off two stars in my review is that this costume is extremely hot. It does not allow for ventilation and cooling. If it is a cold time of year that works but if it is hot then this costume could easily cause a dog to overheat and they don't have a way to cool down from that.

I took every precaution during the parade, had him in the shade as much as possible, waited till the last minute to put the whole costume on, pulled it off immediately after the parade despite all this his skin was burning hot and he was panting like crazy when I took it off. Had to pour a couple bottles of water on him and rub him down with aloe. Luckily he only had to wear the full costume for fifteen minutes or less during the parade. Otherwise he could have been killed from overheating, something that happened to a friend's dog on a hot summer day.

So if you plan to put this on your dog during a cold winter day, go for it. If it is even slightly hot be very careful about making sure your dog doesn't overheat.
