Based upon the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure if I should buy these as favors for a luau birthday party. I went for it and found them to be perfect. They are full sized hoops and fairly strong. One child was stepping on one side, and pushing down forcefully on the other side, which of course bent the hoop. All of the others who used the hoops properly had a great time, and took home a nice quality party favor. These are big enough for adult use, yet small enough for as young as a 5 year old child to be successful! There were 2 of each color in the box: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. I have gotten several texts since the party from moms saying their kids won't stop hula hooping!

I wouldn't let kids go hog wild with them because they are stapled and ANY hula hoop is not kid proof. But if adults use them or you watch the kids, they are perfect and work very well.
