Taro boba is definitely one of my all time favorite boba drink flavors. I always prefer blended, not iced.
Usually substitute buying black boba pearls for mango jelly pearls or some fruity jelly combination. Always like to try out different ways to make my boba drinks from time to time. My other flavors that I enjoy trying out as well are Thai Tea, Mango, Green Matcha and Blueberry Cheesecake. But I still consider Taro as my first go-to drink flavor.
Either way, I'm thankful I found this brand of boba powder drink mix on Amazon cuz I've tried quite a few others advertised on the app. Some are good, some are OK. A lot of them were...😒... let's just say, it definitely was my first and only order from those boba brand LoL 😅

This flavor powder definitely sated my thirst for taro milk tea, but unfortunately without being able to shake the tea, the powder didn't really dissolve completely and left some grit in the bottom of my cup. Price-wise I'd say this is less of a value than buying the flavor syrups by the gallon, because it takes SO MUCH powder to get the right flavor. It's cheaper to settle with the non-milk tea and just wait until you can buy milk tea at a bubble tea shop.
Other than that, the flavor was spot-on for what I was used to from Bubble Bubble in Portland. I saw other reviewers say that the flavor wasn't right, but I think it might've been because they were mixing it with water and not with tea. The best way to make this is to mix it into iced jasmine green tea, which is what the bubble tea shops use for their green tea base. If you want black tea, use assam black tea.

For some reason the chai that I purchased in Dec 2022 is much lighter in color and tastes a bit different. Purchased over the last few years and it tasted better. Hopefully they will get back to the original recipe.

This beverage is so satisfying! I used to go to Bubble Tea shops all the time and loved mixing coconut with taro. This tastes exactly the same. I see some of the reviewers not liking the coconut flavor to it but I really don't think it's bad at all. I use a mini electric whisker, which helps a lot and it isn't grainy. I use a little less than 3 tbsp of powder with 1 cup of milk and cap it off with ice. Will purchase again for a bigger bag!
