Everything Works So Far, Waters Unevenly. Build Quality Suspect
Rick LaytonJune 16, 2017
So far, I've used this sprinkler six times to water a section of my front yard that has a broken automatic water station. Here are some observations. The water output is low. I initially set the timer for 45 minutes - the same as the broken automatic station, but that was insufficient. I had to up that to 90 minutes. The oscillating function is working however I noticed that it pauses on one end and then the other and speeds through the center. This leaves greatly uneven watering. The parts of the grass on the ends are green and well water, however the center area is still yellow and stressed - even at 90 minutes of watering per session.

The build quality is suspect. The entire unit is made out of a very lightweight plastic. I worry about durability long term. Since I have only used the unit a half dozen times so far, everything is still working - including the timer and the oscillating and the free flowing water spray. I will update this review if the status changes.

Overall, the uneven watering bothers me the most. I can probably live with this as an emergency fix until I get the automatic sprinkling system repaired, but I could not see me using this as my main watering device.

Update July 15, 2017: After using this product for about a month and watering almost every day for 90 minutes per session, I have found my grass in that area is still stressed with brown spots due to lack of water. The unit seems to shoot very thin streams of water far enough apart that the water quantity is low and the coverage is poor. My plan was to wait until fall to repair and replace faulty valves with my automatic sprinkling system, but I went ahead and replaced them early due to this product just not being adequate. After only two watering cycles back on the regular sprinkling system, the brown spots are recovering nicely. The RAINWAVE was just not capable of adequate watering no matter how much I tried to water with it. I DID like the timer, but that's about it. I cannot recommend this device.
Good Coverage

I'm happy with the wide coverage this provides. I water my lawn in three different sections and the spray control adjustments on this sprinkler make it simple to move the sprinkler around and water the spots I want to water without spraying the neighbor's yard.

The timer feature is just OK. I'd rather set a timer on my watch/phone and go shut it off myself. I don't like the idea of leaving the garden hose charged and pressurized for prolonged periods, plus my hose connection leaks a little at the hose bib.
I cannot recommend this product
Dread In New YorkSeptember 7, 2016
I bought this in 2013. It is now 2016. It lasted 3 seasons. I live in an area where Summer lasts about 3 months. So let's put that in perspective. That means collectively, this item lasted LESS THAN A YEAR. The timer no longer works. I set it for 60 minutes and went to work. I came home 6 hours later to a puddle of muddy grass. I cannot recommend this product
Don't waste your money

Junk, junk, bad return policy. It seems like I purchase sprinklers once a year because they're all made of garbage that break after just one year's use. This year I try to unit with a little timer built into it and within just a couple of months both units stopped isolating. It's impossible that I did anything however when I went to return them I was told that the return policy had expired. Just go to your local big box home-improvement retailer and by your sprinklers there. At least you can return them if you're unhappy. PS, the time is not such a big deal after all"¦ You can basically buy those for $10 a piece anywhere and they fit on any fixture
Worked reliable so far, i like the timer...no complaints!

After a good amount of research, I found this one to be the most "well liked".

Pros
- it reaches about 15-20 feet, some people have quoted more
- I like the timer but honestly I cant get the valve connection to not leak with my hose plugged in so if I just don't shut the water off there is a small pool of water on if I just shut the water off with the timer as the water is still being flowed it just stops at the sprinkler but not sure that's the spinklers fault so keeping this still a pro!
- You can make how just stick to one side ( say the other side is hitting your house/deck/pool/neighbors

There really isn't any cons. I guess the price is sort of high, I did wish it sprayed father but its a pretty cool sprinkler!
