Don't bother!

These are cheap lights and certainly not worth the current price of $30+ dollars. If you have any desire to control these with DMX, don't waste your money. I would recommend you spend the extra money and get a Chauvet Jelly Par 38 for $69 instead even though they are a little over twice the current price. I was able to get 2 of these for about $14 a piece and they are barely worth that. The dipswitches for DMX are a nightmare as well as are the instructions. Stand alone in sound mode or auto is ok but they do not meet the needs of a pro DJ at all. Up lighting at bare minimum.... Not recommended at all.
brighter than expected, good for a dj working on a budget

wonderful lights, especially for the price. I am a part time DJ, and I ordered 4 of these lights. After placing the order, I did some researching and noticed that many people said that you really need to buy the lights that are $70 to $80 a piece to get a nice light, so I expected these to be really bad. The lights turned out to actually work very well, and were so bright that I could stand upstairs in my house and they lit up the entire family in my house (roughly a 30x30 ft room)....and this one only while using 1 of the 4 lights....
As a DJ, these are good for spot lighting, and you do not have to have a dmx controller to change the colors (however, without a dmx controller there is no strobe effects, but yes there is sound activation and automatic change effects). The light also came with instructions as to what settings the switches on the back need to be set to in order to get each color or effect.
The only con I see in these is that they are a bit thick, and thus if you are trying to shine them on to a curtain or a wall as an uplight set on the floor, the light starts to cover the curtain or wall after about a foot or two off the ground.

DMX/Freestyler DMX capable!

Really great light despite what some might say about it! Have ordered 5 of these over the past year and all but 1 is still working. No fault on them just accidentally ripped the back cord out of the light.
For anyone who was having trouble doing dmx with this through Freestyler I had to make a custom fixture through Fixture creator. While most of you probably are beginners (like me) and probably don't know much about that at all. There may be a few steps I'm forgetting but should still help.
You don't have to put the name as tsss or the fixture name as LED RGB just what I did to help me remember:
-Go into FixtureCreator and put in the exact values I have in this image.
-Hit file and then export the fixture into the fixture files in the Freestyler folder.
-In order to put in additional fixtures after the first I've just had to make a copy of the file and rename it with "LED RGB 2" "LED RGB 3" for example. Could be doing something wrong but a simple workaround for now.
This should give you all functionality over your light but again I could be wrong. Works well enough for me. Another reviewer posted all the needed dipswitch information but Freestyler sort've does that for you anyways.

cheap light, build quality and quality of light is just as you expect for the price.

Ordered this light to see how well it was for the price. Wouldn't recommend someone this light if they were looking for a par fixture.
pros: works great for fading/chase/static color mode and that is pretty much it....
cons: DMX address nightmare, could not get this light to work on the correct DMX address what so ever.
sound active is way too sensitive.
power cable wires were exposing their selves after lite use in about a week. could even see some exposed wire in the actual wires going into the light.
causes crazy DMX interference when connected in a lighting rig
if you're planning on getting this light don't. save up a bit and get some actual par fixtures from a more trusted name like chauvet, American DJ, elation, etc....

A good pin spot par can.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because one of the 4 lights I ordered did not work. However, since the unit only cost a bit over 30 bucks, I did not have a problem with voiding the warranty by opening it up to find out why it failed to light. I found one of the three wires that come from the electrical cord had slipped out of the screw clamp. Once re-inserted, and properly clamped down, and the lamp all buttoned up, she fired right up like all the others.
I've yet to check them out with DMX controllers, but the main reason I got them was to use as back-line lights for the band I work with.
Since they're sound active as well as DMX controllable, I figured they'd be great either way.
Being pin-spots, the beam is such that at about 10 feet from a wall, the spot's about 5, or 6 feet wide.
In a foggy room, the lights will put out a nice, slender beam of light.
They respond quite well to just about any volume level in sound active mode.
They seem to work well in auto mode as well.
The par cans, and yokes are made of metal, so they're fairly rugged.
Assembly was easy. Just install the yoke with the rubber washers between the can, and yoke, and the tensioners go in easily.
One of my lights did have a poorly made yoke tensioner which had plastic flashing going half way along the threaded bolt, and the head of the bolt was partly exposed, but still worked properly once I removed the plastic flashing from the bolt.
Now all 4 of the lights I ordered work.
They're really quite small, yet get the job done well, given their intended application.
I'm surprised American DJ's not making these.
The DMX settings are made via dip switches, but the switches are well numbered, and the instruction sheet clearly explains what they do.
I like that you can link them in slave-master mode, too.
Being so cheap, I must wonder how long these lights will "actually" hold up. Should be interesting to find out. I know the LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours. Doesn't mean the rest of it will. LOL ;)
