I will be buying more for my other gas cans. Those new safety nozzles have always been trouble. I have not had one that didn't leak gas when trying to pour, or broke and wouldn't pour properly. They are simply a pain. This worked great she was a drop in replacement for the spout, and easy to drill the hole for the vent. Should of done this a long time ago.

I purchased this kit to replace a broken spout on a small plastic gas can I used for mixed fuel. On the surface the kit looks well though out, but in reality it didn't work well for my needs. First the included collars were too small and did not fit my can, so I had to use the original collar and the plastic spout out of the kit. I did find another can the collars would fit, but it didn't need a spout.
Unfortunately, the flange on the spout did not seal my slightly larger collar so the spout leaked like a sieve. Digging into my box of o-rings it took two to fill in the gap between the spout flange and the lip of the can to stop the leak. Ii did not need the air vent, but looking it over I will say unless you are a tool guy, drilling a perfectly round hole in plastic is not as easy as it sounds and you have got one shot at it, otherwise the push in air vent is going to leak. When I look at the price of this kit I must have had a senior moment at the time of purchase, because after fooling with the kit and now having a gas can sealed with o-rings that are just waiting to pop out, I should have just thrown the can away and bought a new one. What we really need is a vendor selling inexpensive replaceable flexible plastic spouts as this is what breaks on the gas cans.

Love, love this! I asked an old-timer at the local hardware store what's the best gas tank nozzle replacement -cause ours all leaked, or didn't pour well. His reply? "Doesn't matter, they all leak these days, they're just a poor design." Well, after spilling waaaay too much gas on our snowblowers and lawnmowers, we threw away our 2 fancy-shmancy nozzles (which both had internal valves, requiring you to push down on the end to start the flow).. and went with these. Easy-peasy. Simple, well made. They'll last longer than we will! You'll love these!! We do! :D

The new can spouts block the view of how close to the top of the mower tank the fuel level is during filling causing frequent overfilling and spillage. With a hot mower that's even dangerous, wasteful and causes evaporation into the atmosphere of the unburned gas. It's also tricky to maintain forward pressure to keep the fuel flowing while pouring. What government ding dong came up with this exasperating new rule? Reagan was right--"government is the problem." Super simple and easy installation. Complete instructions included. I have a 2 gallon gas canister and neither one of the collars were able to screw into my existing threads. Also the provided valve had no way of fitting on my canister and the plastic tie they provide to attach the cap to the spout didn't fit without using a pair of pliers to deform it and press it through.

The only useful thing I got from this kit was the plastic tube that can be used as a spout. There are much cheaper alternatives out there for that.
