This stuff is nothing short of miraculous. I am highly allergic to urushiol. After my bout with poison ivy this year which involved methylprednisolone, antibiotics, and copious amounts of Diphenhydramine in all forms, I was determined not to suffer with the evil rash again. Unfortunately we recently moved into a previously vacant house with a terribly over grown yard and back woods, and I have two dogs who love to run through the back woods. Long story short, whenever I see the tell-tale red bumps starting I scrub with this stuff and it nips it right in the bud. Now, admittedly I have "girly" skin, and for a once in a while use, this stuff is pretty gentle, but I used it every day for a week or so and it was pretty drying and rough on my skin, but nothing a little moisturizer wouldn't fix. This stuff is also great for getting all kinds of dirt and grime off too. I wish I knew what was in it. I hope it is not highly toxic.

I had a horrible case of poison ivy and went through 4-5 tubes of Zanfel. After $250 in Zanfel I took to the internet to try and find a substitute. I found Mean Green and overnighted a jar to myself. I can say with confidence the Mean Green works nearly as well as Zanfel. Zanfel has small micro-beads which do a better job penetrating the surface but I found Mean Green to work 90-95% as well as Zanfel at reducing itch.
I have tried nearly every poison ivy treatment and Mean Green/Zanfel is the only thing that has ever effectively taken away the itch for more than a few minutes. At the peak of my infection I apply Mean Green 3x a day and that basically takes care of the itch all day.

In case other reviewers were not clear enough, this stuff is insane. It gets anything off. My first run with it was after working on my car all day. I had black car grease, adhesives, grime, and oil all over my arms. I put about a quarter sized glob in my hands and started rubbing, and pretty soon I was cleaner than before I started working. I honestly could not believe it. I originally bought this stuff for poison ivy, because I read that its the same thing as Zanfel. Honestly, I feel 98% sure that it is indeed the same stuff, or it at least works just as well. The thing is, with poison ivy, catching it early is the key. Zanfel was so expensive that one could hardly afford to scrub suspected poison ivy contact at leisure, but mean green is so cheap, thats exactly what I do. Any time I think I MAYBE came in contact with it (or even if I just hike, and don't think I did..) I scrub from head to toe with this stuff. I will say, I KNOW that I did for a fact touch some poison ivy about a week ago, and I did scrub with mean green 2 hours later when I got home, and did NOT get any poison ivy rash at all.
But in short, yes, it works, it IS amazing, and it will remove stains/substances that nothing else will. And I've tried plenty of other stuff.

Outstanding for Dealing with Poison Ivy Rashes

I have been using this for two years now to scrub out poison ivy rashes. As others have mentioned, this stuff works great. I first bought it a few years ago when I got my first poison ivy rash. Even though the rash did not show up until a week or so after exposure and had been around for a few days after that, this stuff still managed to treat it. I would use this to scrub the rash in the morning and evening which each time would keep the itching at bay for about 12 hours. After about the 2nd day of using it, the rash was gone.
Just a few weeks ago, I was working with some neighbors to clear out a very large patch of poison ivy vines and brushes. The poison ivy had already sprouted, and I was literally carrying away bundles of poison ivy vines with branches and leaves sticking in my face. When I got home, did a head to toe scrub down with this stuff (probably used about 6 oz total), and had zero rashes the next day.
There have also been numerous times in-between where I would get a rash from being the wooded area around the house and immediately treat it with this stuff when the rash started itching. In these cases, I usually only had to scrub the rash once or twice before it was gone.
All in all, I would highly recommend this stuff. I keep at least 16 oz. stocked at home at all times just in case.

I am probably not the intended market for this product, as it's meant for heavy oil and grease jobs.
I love this product because I have pretty bad OCD with greasy hands and greasy stuff in general. The soap at my University is very weak, and I've had to wash my hands very thoroughly for up to 15 minutes and still I feel like there's residual grease. This causes my hands to dry up extremely bad, especially during the winter. This product is extremely easy to use; all it takes is to scoop some out, and since it's not too liquidy, I can just rub them on my hands while walking to the bathroom. It doesn't even require a rinse, as you can simply wipe off the product.
In one wash, my hands feel grease-free, protecting my hands and preventing 7-10 trips to the communal bathroom just to wash my hands.
The scrub smells great as well, making it a product that I will buy for a long time.
