Had to hang on a 13 foot tall ceiling. Got the bikes up and out of the hurricane winds. I did use some electric zip ties to better secure the hooks to the bikes .
Sturdy, easy to use bike holder.

I bought this to hold my Raleigh Cyclo-cross bike. It does take some work to mount it on the ceiling. Make sure you find the ceiling joists to anchor it. I used a 2x4 to go between the joists and that worked well. Another reviewer mentioned that they had an issue with the hangers holding the bike. I didn't find that to be an issue. Maybe my bike has a different seat or handle bar. Once it is hung, it is easy to use and holds the bike well.
Very good product for the price

Just had the opportunity to install these and I have to say this is the best way to store you bicycles without taking up floor space or using the standard bicycle hooks attached the ceiling which can be difficult depending on how tall you ceiling is or how heavy your bicycle is. I used 1"x4"x4' boards to mount the hoists since my ceiling rafters run crossways and are spaced 24" apart. I performed all measurements and drilled all holes while on the floor which made mounting easier and smoother. You can also hang the bicycle by the wheels if hanging by the handlebar and seat are not feasible. However, you will want to readjust the hooks 90 deg. What would also help on keeping the front wheel and handlebar straight is to use either a wire tie or bunjie cord and tie the wheel to the bicycle frame before raising.
Worked fine for our need

Review by Quilt Lady's hubby:
With winter coming we needed a way to store her new e-bike. I have all our other bikes hanging from their wheels, but with 10' ceilings this bike is just too heavy for me to flip and raise by hand. This system looked like our best solution. Install went fine. I chose to secure a 4" x 48" piece of 9/16" plywood along a truss with 2" screws first, then attached the 2 brackets to it with my own screws. I had bought the velcro straps some others suggested, but I simply bent the hooks on the brackets more to form a tighter loop. Yeah the rubber covers slip off, but once the hooks are in place they stay put. Because the bike is so much heavier at the rear the bike does not lift evenly at all. I found I had lift that end occasionally during the lifting process to level it out. This was actually easier with the 2 of us. I suspect a normal bike will go up smoothly. I learned that if the pulley that's at the end end where you're pulling the rope doesn't go straight up it can jam the locking device, then you can't lower the bike. This is happened because I had to grab the rear of the bike much further back than I had originally planned since the drive motor is in the rear hub. We were able to resolve the jammed locking situation by simply reversing the position of the bike. Yes, the rope can come off the pulleys and jam between the pulley and bracket so don't pull the cord to one side. I might have to swap it out for something a little larger in diameter at a later date, but for now it's OK. It's not like we're going to be hoisting it up and down every day. All in all it works fine for our need and for $18 it does the job.
Update:
Just bought another one of these so I can get our 65lb bike rack up off the floor and out of the way. I haven't found it necessary to replace the hooks with the velcro. I simply clamp the tips in the vise and bend the ends more. As far as the rubber ends coming off, just wrap some electrical tape to keep them on. My biggest peeve is the quality of the rope. I think the system could benefit from some better ROUND rope.
