Slow Auto Focus but still worth getting

Beautiful functional and deliciously nice lens. The only thing I don't like about this is the slow auto focus that sometimes seem to go out of focus more often when introduced to new objects. I'm using this with my NX500 camera and for the most part it is fine, but the slowness of then AF is kind of annoying especially when I need quick shots with relatively little distraction.
Design is good, and quite study. The lens is good to have for portraits of fashiony type shots. I am an amateur photographer and I love taking experimental photos of with lenses. This one is definitely one that you should carry with you alongside your power zoom lens and a pancake wide angle lens.

New Favorite Lens

This lens is now what I usually shoot with. I'm a beginner photography and usually snap pictures of my cats and travels. The aperture range is great for travel and portraits, but moving yourself instead of zooming takes some getting use to. Photos are clear and has a great shutter speed. The one negative is that you can't flip the hood around when not in use, so I have to store it in my camera bag instead. Wish they carried this in white to match my NX,
Tack sharp unless you're too close.

Tack sharp and quick to focus. This small lens is excellent at everything but extremely close focus. When this lens is used near it's minimum focus distance, the images become quite soft. Back up a few feet and things get sharp again. This is not a good lens for "macro" work. It is excellent everywhere else. I wish Samsung made more lenses with this price to performance ratio.

A must-have lens if you have Samsung NX camera. It is a good portrait lens and very nice bokeh. Pictures tell a thousand words....
