It went in but it wasn't square to the hole.
A little application of force and I was able to make it fit.
It seems flimsy but for it's location it shouldn't ever have that much pressure applied to it.

Looks like it was meant to be there.
My only complaint is that this storage bin is a 2 piece unit which makes it not seamless. The 4 supplied screws hold it together nicely but still leave a seam. Although the trim panel hides the front edge seams, the inside of the bin has a seam that can be seen if you look. I'm a little anal and nit picky but other than that, it's a great purchase if you have a dead cd or cassette player that is separate from the head unit in your vehicle. In my case, I just don't have any cassette tapes to use so I opted for more console storage capacity.

I had more trouble getting the old CD deck out than installing this piece. Once your old deck is out, this pocket piece just slides and clips right in. Perfect fit on my 1998 K1500.

I upgraded the factory stereo 20 years ago and left the unused cassette player in place all these years. I just found this cubby and swapped it out in both of my trucks and it looks good. Just two 7mm screws and it is a very easy install.
