Direct replacement for my 95 v6 mustang. Followed directions on YouTube to replace this part, very easy and only took around 30 mins because I had to look for the tools. Old piece was so brittle It fell apart while taking it out of it's original place. New piece is high quality.

Odometer & tripmeter quit working on my 97 Mercury Mountaineer, I checked with a Ford dealership about repairing it & they insisted I bring it in for a quote. They charged me about $20 to tell me they'd have to replace entire cluster (used one for $150) plus the labor to replace it. Would have been over $300. I bought one of these & repaired it myself...saved a bunch of bucks!!!
Works on 1996 Ford Ranger XLT

I only needed the small worm gear to fix the odometer on my 96 Ranger. It was busted into 3 pieces from age. It didn't take that long to get the instrument cluster out. If you have any gauge lights that are out, this would be the time to replace them. This part works on many Ford models, so don't let the Mustang label throw you off. Look up the part number and make for certain though.

This gear solves the typical issue with SN95 Mustangs and their odometer get not working. Replacement is fairly straight-forward, just make sure that you clean the gear slot where the old set resides. Outside of that, just make sure the main gear clicks into place (you'll hear and feel it) and you should be good to go! Excellent part at a great price; try finding this part elsewhere and you'll see a much steeper cost for the same exact part right down to the part number/manufacturer. Fixed my issue and I'm back on the road now with a working odometer.
