A good alternative to paying directly to the cartel

When I called customer support with Bioware, they informed me that I had made too many purchases for cartel coins and so the game was locking me down because it thought something was up. It did this when I was preparing to transfer a character to another server to play with my friends without having to level a brand new character, so it was a bit of an annoyance.

The person on the customer service line told me that if I needed the cartel coins right away, then I could purchase them from Amazon.com (and they even admitted that's what they do, which I thought was awesome xD).

I will definitely be purchasing more coins from Amazon now, however, rather than from the cartel coins shop Bioware provides. Why? Because if you purchase cartel coins from Amazon, you will get a pet included from Amazon as a thank you for purchasing said coins from them. It will come in mail to every character you create. Right now, I have a pet TIE model (not sure what the name of it is off the top of my head), and if there's a chance of getting more neat pets like that in the game as a result of my purchase... then SIGN ME UP!

I've made purchases for Cartel Coins for SWTOR through Amazon many times. It's a fast, easy way to get your Cartel Coins. You may also receive an in-game e-mail, free game pet reward; the type of pet is based on how many Coins you purchased; that's from personal experience. It will be in your in-game mail as a letter from Amazon with a free pet inside to claim. (I thought this was pretty cool, since every Character you've already made will get that letter with the pet in it.) If anyone out there is curious if it's as fast as purchasing from the SWTOR website, or via In-Game Cartel Coin Purchase I'd answer: Absolutely. You simply have to log into your Account on SWTOR.com> click the "Redeem A Code" link at the top (It's on the far right under the larger links at the top.) click "Redeem Code Now" on the following page, and enter it exactly as it appears from your order review here on Amazon. You can't Copy/Paste it; I find it easier to simply write it down. I also include the "-'s" in-between each set of letters and numbers with my Caps Lock on (Don't forget to check the box right below agreeing to the Terms of Use.), and viola. Your Coins are instantly added. It's perfect for those pesky times when the Cartel Market is experiencing problems for Coin Purchases. (Which when Calling Tech Support during those times may simply guide you to here anyway, for your purchases. While they resolve whatever issue they sometimes experience.)
