Conflicting instructions potentially cause incorrect results!

This kit comes with three sets of instructions. They conflict!
The bacteria test vial, the leaflet, and the cardboard insert each have instructions for completing the bacteria culture test. Unfortunately, the cardboard insert has instructions that will lead to a false negative in the case of actual contamination!
Leaflet and vial instructions state that a purple fluid after 48 hours indicates a negative result, and yellow fluid indicates a positive result.
Cardboard insert states that a yellow fluid indicates a NEGATIVE result, and a blue/green fluid indicates a positive result. This is incorrect!
Be sure to read the instructions on the test vial itself.

Saved us from bacterial contamination

i bought this to test the water in a mexican condo. we had a purifier system installed but i was hesitant to drink the water until i tested it. the kit itself arrived promptly and packaged well. instructions were simple and clear. i followed the instructions. the sample was initially golden in color and remained so after 24 hours, however, after another 24 hours it had turned purple, indicating the presence of coliform bacteria. needless to say, we didn't drink the water. i am disappointed in my filtration system but very pleased that this test kit helped avoid serious problems. well worth the price.i will use this again when the need arises.
