I am a man and I have this jacket in men's of my size XL. My wife and daughter kept using it and loved it. So to keep mine available for me I bought them one. Now we are all happy! I also have the Marmot Precip, which I also love, but this one is easier to deal up as the zipper is waterproof, where the Precip has flaps that fold over the main zipper. Both are great jackets. The Marmot seems to be made of a slightly heavier material which tends to make me feel it can take more abuse.
So when I'm heading out for a quick trip and will not have anything that would rub against the outer shell, the Columbia is my favorite. If wear on the outer shell is possible then the Marmot is a better choice.

Went on an outdoor based vacation that was filled with heavy rain. A lot of my past waterproof jackets eventually let water in, but this didn't. Held up great! Was shipped in a thin clear bag, but product was fine.

I normally do a L/XL in tops- and the XL is very snug.
Material is nice, but if you are planning on wearing anything heavy under- go up a size or two.
Also- plan on wearing a thin pullover or long sleeve under, it has the plasticy feeling in the arms where it would stick to your skin- however, I would bet it keeps you dry.
I am using it on an Iceland trip- and it packs into the pocket very easily.

The jacket is light weight but keeps you warm. Not much to fuss with and easily foldable to be placed out of the way, however, the jacket runs SMALL!! I got an extra large and it fits like a big Medium, or a small Large. There is no way this jacket is a real XL!. If you are well endowed or just like room in the chest area, size up by 2. And it does not give!
Worked great for my Iceland trip!
