Overall a good product

Overall, this is a great product! It is not always easy trying to coax my cat out the front of the carrier when we are at the vet's office, so I love the fact that the whole top comes off! And it's so quick and easy to do!
I have read many of the reviews where people have complained about how difficult this carrier was to put together, as it comes unassembled. Personally, I thought it was pretty darn simple - so simple in fact that I didn't even look at the directions. There is only one way that the latches and safety pins and door can be put on, so I am not sure what the confusion is?
I do have one complaint about the carrier, and it is the only reason I did not give this 5 stars... The door can be quite difficult to open/close. At first I thought maybe there was just something wrong with the door on my carrier, but I read back through some of the reviews and see that others have had the same problem. I would definitely recommend this product, but never to anybody who has arthritis or any issues with lack of strength in their hands!

I really am very happy with this carrier, my miniature schnauzer fits in it will and it was easy to put together even without very good instructions. The only thing that makes it so I can not give 5 stars is the latch that you squeeze to open or lock the door is somewhat hard to squeeze. It is getting easyier and better to lock the door, but it is still hard when trying to open it and let him.
Overall very happy with this item and if my puppy ever out grows this kennel I will probably get the same brand just a size bigger.

ALL Pet Carriers Should Be Made Like This.

The Clipper Pet Carriers are by far, the best! I've had cats for most of my life, and have used several kinds. After finding this one, I hope they never stop making this cat/small dog carrier. This is the one carrier that you can buy that completely disassembles (for storage) and reassembles quickly and easily, using the plastic clamps on the sides that you can flip upward and outward, to detach the bottom of the carrier from the top. This carrier is the perfect size for one cat or one (very small) dog (like a Yorkie or Chihuahua breed). I wouldn't put more than one animal in this carrier as carriers that are too confined or cramped make pets extremely anxious (you don't want your pet to EVER dread going in it). My old pet carrier was almost identical to this one. It was a dark navy blue one (with the flip-up & out plastic clamps) that I had from years ago (that I had accidentally made a large crack in the side of, when it was empty, during a move). For years, I couldn't find any pet carrier that was good enough to replace it, until I looked on Amazon and saw this. It's made by the exact same manufacturer as the old one that I'd damaged. What's really great about these carriers (from the standpoint of your pet) is that if you have a cat or (small) dog who is really nervous or shy while at the vet, you can remove just the top and metal door of the carrier, letting your pet still sit inside his/her comfort space (on a towel or blanket), while you comfort them, until the vet is ready to examine them. You can also buy detachable wheels (that easily snap in at the bottom of the carrier). You have to buy the wheels separately, as well as the carrier strap (for over-the shoulder toting, or it also extends as a strap to tote the carrier behind you in airports/or on flooring with a smooth surface). If you're potentially going to be walking over uneven or rough sidewalks, I recommend that you carry the carrier, using the strap, to let it hang off of your shoulder, so that your pet doesn't feel stressed from a bumpy ride. You can also separately purchase an attachable water and feeding dish to the metal door. Another tip: if your pet hates the car ride, try and let them sit in the front seat, with the front of the carrier facing you, as you drive. Your can place a sheet or blanket covering the carrier, to help them relax more. If that still doesn't help them relax, you can even try and leave the carrier uncovered at the front, so they can still see you.
Absolutely My Favorite Carrier

I have been using Marchioro Clipper Cayman 2 carriers for years and years. Unfortunately, I can no longer find them. I happen to have a smaller female cat and, when her own carrier broke, I bought the Marchioro Clipper Cayman 1. Those can still be found. It is sturdy carrier and my cat even sleeps in it because I never put it away. What is more, the seller enclosed a note with the carrier indicating that if anything were wrong he would replace the carrier. I am very happy with my purchase and I really hope the carriers stay in stock.
I have multiple sizes of this carrier

Purchased this model specifically because I loved the first one I bought, several years ago. This one feels less sturdy than my original purchase, and the last two I have purchased have had an issue with the doors not opening and closing smoothly. I still have not found one I like better because this has clamps on the sides instead of the systems that use screws. This one can use screws in addition to the clamps, but I like to just use the clamps. Makes it easier to take the top off when the cat doesn't readily come out, and makes it much easier to clean if the cat gets car sick.
