Had a severely neglected KitchenAid ice maker with lots of hard water buildup. A few replacement parts, some elbow grease and a bottle of Nu-Calgon...problem solved. This stuff is worth EVERY PENNY. If you are using your ice machine without an inline water filter, you should be using this product regularly. Even with a water filter, I highly suggest using it at least once a year to keep everything clean. Unless your are getting your water from a fresh water alpine lake, you should be using this product to protect your ice maker.

Works well to dissolve build up.

I thought I could just pour this in my countertop ice maker and run it through 2 cycles of ice and it would be clean. But it did not work that way at all. I had to scrap and scrub on it for an hour. I couldn't really tell this cleaner did any good. Soap and water worked better for me.

This stuff is magic. I'd post the before and after photos but I'm embarassed to show how bad our ice maker was. We used this on 2 Scotman DCE33. 4 ounces of this stuff onto the screen and surounding components did wonders. Make sure to thoroughly rinse everything down afterwords. We let it work through the machine for 2-3 hours and then dumped all the ice made during that time. A good indication that it is done working through the system is when you no longer see bubbles on the water curtain.

By the way, Amazon had this as a back-order item and was expecting a month for Prime shipment. It turned out to take only a week. I'll do the same when I need more but I suspect I'll only need about a bottle a year for our two machines.

I bought this to try and revive our broken under-the-counter ice maker which had been sorely neglected for several years.

I followed all the instructions from the manufacturer, rather than what was on the bottle and left it in it's cleaning cycle. This cleaner brought everything it came into contact with back to the expected coloration and removed all the built-up scale, as well.

Unfortunately it turned out that the icemaker re-circulation pump had failed and was beyond recovery by just a simple cleaning, so I have to replace that to get the machine up and operational again.

This product worked well and I purchased another two bottles for future maintenance to stop the machine getting into such a bad state in the future.

I strongly recommend that you keep your expensive ice machine clean by running this cleaner through your system at least once a year, if not more. Don't let it get too bad or something expensive might just fail on you.
