I bought this pad for practice. Yes, it is a little tough to penetrate but it is perfect for me to practice my knots and patterns. The attached picture is my first attempt with the vertical mattress pattern.
After a few hours of practice, i moved on to suturing a grape. The attached picture is my first attempt at a basic interrupted suture technique performed on a grape.
I am pleased with the value of this purchase- 2 practice pads and the suture kit.
As for durability, I believe these pads will get many uses.

Great service, fast shipping. Received it within a week (in the US). The suture pads themselves are ok, but not great. The red 'subQ' layer leaves a lot to be desired. So not that great for practicing buried or deep tissue sutures, but just fine for removable (interrupted, running, vertical/horizontal mattress, dog ear, etc.)
Came with nice needle driver and a good assortment of suture.
