I love them!

I don't have enough experience with other nut files to say if these are really better.
I can, however, say they work well. I think the price is obscene! But they do work well.

These are awesome. I am not a professional guitar repair person or "luthier". But if you are into modding your guitars. Especially if you would like to down tune or upgrade parts on less expensive guitars. Or would like to learn how to set up your won guitars. These are it. This is the best price you will fine on a properly working set of guitar nut files.

Great files, precision made, and as sturdy as could reasonably be expected.

Very nice, very precise. I'll have these a very long time. I've seen reviews here complaining that they're breakable. Well of course they are. The smallest one is 0.010 thick. Look at your high "E" string. .010 is THIN. A file thin enough for that slot but inflexible enough to actually work as a file is going to require great care.
I don't know if people expect them to be made of the fictional Adamantine steel which coats Wolverine's skeleton, but come on.

Good value and quality.

I was skeptical. You can spend a lot more for fret files, and these were pretty reasonable. But I've used them twice now and they do a good job. Just be careful with the thinnest ones. They obviously have some flexibility, but I imagine you could break one if you did any twisting or weren't careful.
A Bit Expensive, But I'm Happy

These worked out pretty well for me. The widths matched the string widths I was using well, except for the G string which was a bit off, but It was so slight a discrepancy it worked just fine. You have to be pretty gentle with the thin width files since they're pretty fragile, but that's how it is with anything that thin.
As far as the filing process, it's a bit difficult to get it started, but once you get the file to cut into the material they go through it well and you just have to be careful to not snap the file if it gets snagged.
They come in a nice box and also have a nice plastic case. They seem like a quality set of tools. The nuts I've slotted with them have all turned out excellent. They're a bit expensive, but hey it's a specialty, tool made to precise specifications. Just be careful, as they're fragile.
